2 miles is a long way to walk Di..Hope you sort it all tomorrow. Don't the hospital have a special "manned" dementia ward?

    Thanks Marshallka.:AXXX
We have asked them this and they said this is the best ward he will get....., so the sooner they get this other hospital sorted the better, we are all living on our nerves at the moment.
And yes 2 miles is quite a way isn't it?

Just had great news which have brightened my night up.......:T:T, mum said before she came from there, dad was really calm, and not so long before that they came round and gave dad this new sort of pill, she feels this helped him, then she said she was told they are trying him out on new meds and hoping they will help him, I do hope so.

Normally he has 23 items on his repeat prescriptions......, that would do my head in as well.
He was on Exelon 4.5mg as well this was without the prescription and done separately, last year he was on 3.00MG, it goes up to 6.5mg if I remember, this would be the next one to the one he is on now.

Mum said he sat there, grabbed a book from his draw, wrote his own name, and written the numbers from one to ten......:T:T, he have not done that in well over a year, sooooooo pleased.:j:j:j

You should get back into to it. Don't worry about the computers, it won't be a problem, you are so good, you shouldn't waste it. I went to work on a very busy pay dept. (80,000 payees) when I was 50. Although i'd always done clerical work never on such a busy section or with the different computer systems. You can do it:cool:

The way you work out calculations you would be brilliant - don't waste it;);)

I'm sure you are good at what you do and I know you have to fit around the family. That whats it's all about. I worked to fit around my children, and now I do it to fit around my grandchildren. They are all on holiday at the moment, missing the little cherubs

That will be me I think. My son is 22 and my daughter is 13 nearly but i can see me just getting back into it and then grandkiddies:eek: and i would do it all again. I worry about them so much still but just something part time would suit. I have childminded too five kiddies and packed that in a few years ago cause of health probs etc. That was good money but our house was full from early morning. I minded them all from little school right up to high school. It seems strange when one of mine left school this time and I remember her with her front teeth missing.

Then i have done nights in a nursing home just to be here and now nothing but i will get back. You have made me think now. I will have to get some things sorted here and then just go for it. I have nothing to lose really and everything to gain I suppose.

Going to get off to bed myself now. Thanks for the chat. Much appreciated.

My two are 34 and 31 and their children are 15, 10 and 4, really good kids.
I just do part time, you still have some family time.It doesn't matter to me how old they are, they still need you. (as Picture has proved);)
You are right, you have nothing to lose and it is not as traumatic as you think :D
