Sorry you didn't have more success I know you had high hopes.... what do you think went wrong - were your expectations too high or were there not enough customers? I was hoping for at least a £100 when I did a carboot - I was disappointed with £45 so you have my sympathy!Purpletea65 wrote: »Made a whopping £21.50 today, nothing spectacular.
At least it is better than what you had...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

2) £1.5K Net savings after CCs 11/2/26 (but owed £1.4K) so £2.9K

There were quite a few people there but we were put right at the back in a corner, so not many people ventured to where we were. I am not giving up, the next one next month will be better.
I got £50 the first one I did last year and was very happy with that, was hoping for something similar this time.
As you say...it is better than what I had...and you're right, it'll go towards next weeks spends.0 -
It's better than what you had and you've got all the stuff left for the next one so maybe not too bad.0

It’s Monday once again and boy do I feel out of sorts today, not ill or tired just yucky. I hope it passes; I don’t want to feel like this all day.
After Saturday’s disaster at the car boot, the weekend wasn’t too bad otherwise. Although the money that I did make wasn’t wasted, we had friends over for dinner and the money went towards food for dinner, so in effect someone else paid for part of our dinner
Just checked online banking and we are still skint.
Going to try and get a lot more sorted and on e-bay as much as possible this week, I’ve got lots of clothes for the kids that can go on there and I’m going to see if there is any other stuff that can go.
I have entered the weekly spends challenge again this week and I have £25 in my purse. This week should be fairly easy with regards to NSD’s as I don’t have much going on that will require spending.
Plan for today:- Wash up - Done
- Clean bathroom - Done
- Washing - One load in washer
- Sort clothes and photograph for e-bay
- Go through change and see what we have - £7.26 in total
- Tesco’s for apples and cereal for kids…I had a dream last night that I’d bought tons of cereal and tried desperately to find somewhere to put them all - Done spent £2.79
- DS’s Thank you letters – This is a priority as I didn’t do them last week. - Finally finished them after 1.5 hours
- Dooyoo reviews - Done some reading and rating this morning
- Housework
- Hospital with DD Thursday
- NSD’s
- Playgroups
Off to get the kids dressed and get some motivation about me, another cup of tea will be drunk too me thinks.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Re the car boot - I have given up being optimistic on targets etc.....whatever I make as profit is just that - profit, so is therefore money I didn't have before. It's the same with ebay really - even a pound or two is money in the pot that I didn't have before, and so therefore I have to be content with that - it all adds up, and the total that is made over the summer, or over the year, or whatever is quite satisfying and makes a difference to the overall financial situation!
I need to do a boot sale, but it is the time that is restricting me, rather than anything else - until the middle of August, we don't have any weekend days free at all, so I have to hope that the weather on those days that I am free is suitable for carbooting.....

I have jsut updated my list and am fairly pleased with myself. We have some change in the house, this will come in handy when I'm at the hospital on Thursday.
I have also tidied DS's bedroom and just need to give upstairs a hoovering later.
I have given DH a choice for dinner - Chilli or Sausage, egg and chips as I just can't decide.
Off to get DS now, catch you all later.0 -
