Happy new week and hopefully a saner one for me I hope everyone that lurks and posts are okay and had a good weekend?
It’s DS’s 5th birthday today, the party on Saturday was a success and all the children had fun, DS was exhausted by the end of the day but had a big smile on his face… no offence to DS but thank god that’s over! I must admit I am surprised by how many people came and just left their children and came back at the end of the party. Lots of presents were given to DS which he’s very chuffed at and the cake that I ordered arrived, it was superb and full of E numbers for the children.
Thursday DH has his eye operation and had to be in overnight, as I was unable to go up to London and bring him back, he made his way to the local train station and DD and I got him from there. His eye is very red and angry looking and he’s got all the usual drops to put in again. He goes back in on the 7th July to see the consultant and if all is okay he will have another operation in 6 weeks to remove the synthetic oil.
Anyway on to this week – This week has started out on a good note, I managed to sell something else on Amazon yesterday and this has gone in the post this morning, I also got rid of a load of rubbish at the dump.
Plan for the rest of today:- Sort washing out - One load done
- Change kids beds - Done
- Wash up - Done
- Clean bathroom - Too hot to do
- Sort something out for dinner - Can't think
- House work
- NSD’s as much as possible – aiming for 3 - Joined the NSD thread again this month
- Control spending – If no NSD achievable, low spend days needed - Joined the Weekly Spending Challenge this week.
- Charity shop to get rid of stuff - [STRIKE]Possibly doing a car boot sale on Saturday.[/STRIKE] - Pitch booked
- Walk to school as much as possible.
- Do 2 Dooyoo reviews - One done
Money spent so far today £2.25, I really could have only spent 90p but DD wanted some chocolate and I needed a sugar rush. Not happy but it could have been worse I guess.
When DH gets paid again, I am going to count up how much was spent and how much could have been avoided as well as how much was saved.
Catch you all later, have a good day everyone.0 -
Just a quick post as I'll forget otherwise. I have just redeemed £25 from Pureprofile...it has only taken me 5 years to get there. That should be in the account by the middle of next month

Congratulations on perservering with Pure Profile. I'm stuck on £18.60, but then its only been 3 very long years with the odd 20p survey every few months.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

I know what you mean, there were lots of times where I was just going to cancel the membership but I figured that any money is better than none and eventually you've got to reach payout level. DH is also a member and he's up to £9.10 after a year, so I think payout will be somewhere in the next four years for him.0

Cor it’s going to be another hot day today…32 degrees…hope everyone managed to get some sleep last night.
Nothing much to report today so far; nothing more sold on Amazon yet, I’ll be happy if just one more thing sells before the next pay out.
Child benefit (£132.80) and Amazon payout have hit the current account, so all in all not too bad.
New month from tomorrow and 15 days until the next payday, last month and the month before that we have had to transfer what little money we have in the savings to tide us over until payday, I think we will still have to transfer some money but am holding off with that for as long as possible.
I did the shopping order (£52.27) that will be delivered on Friday evening and then there isn’t another order until payday.
Will do a tally up of what was spent so I can see where if anything I went wrong adn what I can do to rectify it this coming month.
Have a good day everyone, keep hydrated everyone and keep cool.0 -
Today is a NSD and my fourth one for June. My friend and I tried the local Sure Start playgroup that's just opened at the local school, it didn't cost us anything and DD had a great time.
The playgroup is also open during the summer holidays for two days a week and they are getting a bouncy castle and trykes and bikes for the older siblings to play on too.
Other news, DD has received a letter from the hospital to say that they are going to operate next Thurday to remove her lump. I'm not sure if she has to stay in or not, so am planning to pack a bag anyway and a friend of mine is picking up DS from school for me so if I can't collect him DH can and he'll be safe and get fed too.
Off to do some housework now and to see if the huge spider that was in the kitchen has gone.0 -
Glad party went well - I am a dump and run mum too - grateful for free babysitting LOL
well done on the survey and amazon money.
Hope the various operations go well and you manage to stretch your money...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Happy new month to everyone and half way through the week to those who are working.
Just when I thought we had money in the bank that would last us until DH got paid, I forgot about any DD’s that come out on the 1st of the month! So we ended up being over the overdraft. So I have had to transfer some money over from the savings to compensate.
I need to ring the hospital at some point today to get some information regarding DD and her impending operation.
Good thing: I sold a c.d on Amazon over night, so that is good. I need to send it this morning
My plan for today:- Post office - Done £1.40 spent
- Boots to get DH some chewing gum and tissues - Done £14.99 spent
- Morrisons to get some peppers for dinner and coco pops for the kids - Done £5.10 spent
- Wash up - Done
- Washing needs doing - One load done
- Ring Hospital
- Ring local school regarding car boot on Saturday - Done, pitch sorted £7 to pay

Still haven’t done a review but have managed to read and rate other people’s reviews so hopefully they’ll repay the compliment.
Right off to get motivated and I will update later once I return.0 -
