So you are basically telling us that the other services offered by UW are subsiding their expensive energy prices?
Please explain why you claim Utility Warehouse energy to be expensive when you can not find a better deal for Carmine's overall requirements? Especially, when other members have stated that the broadband and phone packages are dear?

jimexbox and cardew, please accept my apologies for living in the region I do and having the usage I have, thereby making my challenge so difficult/impossible to rise to.
No idea what Hugh Jeego/Cardew is saying as he's (thankfully) on ignore but whatever claim he's (undoubtedly) making,

    Strange person!

Firstly he 'promised' never to read my posts again, then he forgot and quoted me!!

Then he sets a challenge, which has been taken up by myself and answered, and shown comprehensively that UW prices are very very expensive and his challenge is a nonsense.

Next step is to state, again! that I am on ignore, so has "no idea what I am saying."

Last step is to apologise, that he hasn't read that his challenge has been accepted and answered.

So to say it once and again!

UW have the just about the highest gas and electricity prices in UK. On virtually all comparison websites they are around 50+ position out of 60 odd tariffs.

Their Tels/broadband package is also not competitive.

To be fair there is one unique part of the UW package that is difficult to 'rise to'. They give you a free copy of the 'Prospero' magazine(produced in association with Utility Warehouse!!)

    You can read it here:
    http://www.prosperomagazine.com/prospero-magazine.asp?val=15

However we have to concede that it is not as good as a nice paper copy, so Carmine - you have played your trump card and we have to admit that if a copy of Prospero magazine is of supreme importance, then you should pay the monthly membership fee and join the UW club.

So that in Carmine's eyes means that his challenge can't be beaten.

However if you want cheaper gas, electricity, phones and Broadband look elsewhere than UW

That's what I find incredible about this whole thing - there are some that claim UWs gas and electric are expensive and also state that UW's telecoms packages are expensive. So how come they can't get me a better deal than the one I'm showing that not only includes gas and elctric but also phone and broadband? Are we in some sort of paraellel universe where adding two allegedly expensive products (like I have) together results in the cheapest package on the market? How can this be so?:D
    Call me Carmine....

Name one postcode in the UK using MSE recommended 'energyhelpline' that shows UW are the cheapest gas and electricity providor? I claim nothing, Im merely stating facts that I can back up with proof.

Then why can't you find a cheaper overall deal for Carmine? Not forgetting that he was not including using the pre payment card. I have admitted that I have to use that card to get the best deal for me, and, I am happy to do so. But that's back to my earlier point, you refuse to accept that other people can make their own minds up as to what they want.

If as you say, Utility Warehouse is 51st for price according to some comparison sites, that means about 15% of those tariffs are more expensive. Also, as previously pointed out by another member, they include the one off monthly membership fee for every service rather than dividing it by the number of services. I do not think that anybody has said Utility Warehouse suits everybody. You however, insist that it can suit nobody, and, that has been shown to be wrong by using my own usage figures when comparing them with the best that you could come up with.

Neither Carmine or I have stated that Utility Warehouse is shown as being the cheapest anywhere.

All he has asked you to do is find him a cheaper deal than he has found with Utility Warehouse for his requirements. Can you do it or not?

  • Hi
Yes, I am a utility broker but do not deal in the domestic market where this company operates but have this to say.

By acknowleging this person exists you are giving UW loads of free advertising for their overpriced services, I even checked their website before making this statement.
As for their money saving card, it has to be loaded with money first so you are effectively loaning UW money and will not see a discount until your statement.
The easiest and safest option is to change where you shop.

What person? What did you check? What if you spend the money as intended? What companies can beat my own quoted costings? Have you tried Carmine's challenge?

Are you really Cardew, Jimexbox or Quentin in disguise?
