    jimexbox,

You should learn the tactics. Everyone of your posts since joining MSE will be examined to see if they can be quoted.

The discussion will be turned away from UW to EON, (or perhaps you have posted in the financial/technical/any where else forums) to sort out a line of attack.

    Obfuscation rules!!

Unlike Carmine I will criticise my energy provider if its warranted. Carmine just cannot bring himself to admit their energy prices are very expensive. Where are those rose tinted spectacles? Oh yeah Carmine is wearing them.;)

Ah but he knows they are expensive; however if he dares admit the truth he knows it will come back to haunt him when he becomes a distributor.

That is why his 'challenge' is defined in such precise terms. He knows, we know, everyone knows that you can get far better/cheaper deals than UW provide for gas, electricity and telecoms.

However it is true to say that there probably isn't another supplier that gives all 4 services on one bill, so you can't beat his challenge.

Indeed, the 'challenge' is so skewed and manipulated, a little like UW triple guarantee that its rendered pointless. Carmine somehow assumes that 62 million people live in his postcode area and need exactly the same UW services. I mean that one hell of an assumtion.

Lets imagine for a second that you only want gas and electric I challenge anyone to find an area in the whole UK that UW are the cheapest. How hard is it to say 'yes UW provide expensive gas and electricity'? Its the truth so admit it.

where as UW give you naff all, do they not? Then claim in their triple guarantee that they are the cheapest, which is a lie.

Out of interest where do they claim to be the cheapest ?

On their website. The famous triple guarantee which is used as a selling tool rather than a genuine attempt to offer the lowest price. It specifically excludes dual fuel and online tarriffs, which after viewing a customers sales video presentation this caveat is conveniently forgotten. Even though dual fuel and online billing are pushed on customers, go figure.

I'm genuinely worried about your thought processes, jimexbox. Unless you are being deliberately obtuse, of course.

For me UW is cheaper than ANY package you could come up with (not that you ever do come up with any alternative, apart from bluster).

You seem to find it impossible to get into your brain that, for me, the figure shown beside UW on the switching sites is the STARTING FIGURE. The figure shown beside your energy supplier (who you've previously described as taking their customers, including you, for muppets :p) is the FINAL FIGURE. The ONLY way that figure is going down is if you use even less fuel or if they reduce the prices. With UW there are several ways to reduce that figure (and potentially by substantial sums). I've never said it's for everybody (it's certainly not for you, of course. Do I care? No ) It's the best deal for me, certainly. As you have demonstrated and I thank you for that.

How hard is it for you to say 'Carmine, you've got me there but my Quentin-sized ego has forced me to dig in my heels and ignore any question/challenge I can't take up'?

PS Did you answer my question regarding who you use to dial 0845/0870 numbers? I can't see it but may have missed it.

PPS No idea what Hugh Jeego/Cardew is saying as he's (thankfully) on ignore but whatever claim he's (undoubtedly) making, readers should be aware this is the bloke who claimed he'd personally seen French & Saunders advertising UW on his TV 'most days of the week' in order to try and prove a point. Oh dear.:rotfl:. Not to be trusted, certainly when it comes to UW.

PPPS jimexbox, why don't ypu post your figures up (including telecoms) and let us see what we can do for you? You never know, there may be a better deal out there.

    However IMO
And that's just it, your opinion. I do not rate your opinion at all. Mainly because you refuse to accept that others have the right to choose what they want, as opposed to what you say they need.

You keep banging on about Utility Warehouse having high prices when others find them best value. Carmine issued a challenge for somebody to find cheaper provider for his wants. Nobody has managed it. You complain that he has put specific criteria that can not be beaten by any other company. But you ignore the fact that those criteria exist in the real world for all to see. I put it to you that others will have the same wants and be happy with what Utility Warehouse provides, purely because it is what they want and not what you insist they need.

I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed here are my own and may not be shared by the company.

jimexbox and cardew, please accept my apologies for living in the region I do and having the usage I have, thereby making my challenge so difficult/impossible to rise to. :D Maybe I should move if that would make you happy? I do find it surprising that the people who continually bang on about UW being so expensive can't get me a better deal, though. SURELY if what you are saying is correct, you could use your undoubted knowledge and get me at least ONE cheaper deal? I'm even trying to make it easier for you by not including the projected £433 discount from the pre-paid cashback card. It would make your stance more credible if you could come up with something more than the usual bluster..

So you are basically telling us that the other services offered by UW are subsiding their expensive energy prices?

    On their website.

Here's the whole quote again. Please point out exactly where the claim to be "cheapest" is. You will note that I have included the small print so that it is complete.
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Our unique "Triple Value" guarantee will give you peace of mind.
    • For your gas, we guarantee our prices will always be lower than British Gas, wherever you live in the UK.
    • For your electricity, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by your regional electricity supplier for the area where you live.
    • And for your complete peace of mind, we guarantee our prices will always remain competitive compared with the cheapest tariffs available from the "Big 6" suppliers*
    Then the small print:-
“Big 6” means the six major energy companies who currently supply over 98% of UK households, comprising: British Gas, E.ON, npower, EDF (London Electricity, Seeboard and SWEB), Scottish Power and Scottish & Southern Energy.
Guarantees and price comparisons are based on the standard domestic usage profiles for low, medium and high users on a like-for-like basis and exclude Club membership fee, surcharge for gas customers using an Independent Gas Transporter, Dual-Fuel discounts and online tariffs. Only applies to direct debit customers. During periods when retail prices are changing, we typically announce our new prices after most of the “Big 6” have set their new prices in order to ensure our new prices are competitive and in line with our “Triple Value” guarantee. Therefore when energy prices are falling, there may be a short period before our new prices take effect when our prices may be higher than those available from certain other suppliers. The reverse will however generally be true during periods when energy prices are rising.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

For people who are prepared to search out the deal of the moment and swap providers every few months this company is not for them. Fine, I accept that. For many people who want a reasonable price without constantly changing providers, Utility Warehouse fits the bill. For some people with specific requirements they are best value. For many people prepared to use the pre payment card and shop in a restricted number of stores for certain goods (me), Utility Warehouse is THE cheapest provider.

I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed here are my own and may not be shared by the company.
