recently on news 340 people a day going bankupt many towns have a waiting list to attend the court so YOU ARE NOT ALONE0

I can only echo what Sunny Bear has said. It would be beneficial for you to make a list of your creditors, how much is owing and who's name the credit is in and then make an appointment with one of the debt charities such as the CAB, CCCS or National Debtline so that they can help you to identify your options and decide where to go from there.

the cab are great, them telling him he must tell you was a good thing so you can now move forward. You most certainly not the only people going through this, there ar emany many thousands, so please dont worry about that.
I had 34,000 debt and now its gone its like a huge weight has been lifted, yes it was v scary at the time but now its done its the best thing I ever did!!
I reallt think tomorrow write down the debts and then come back, maybe if your feeling up to it, complete a soa (Link above in another reply) and post it here and we'll see what we can do xx0 -

Hi MP26 and welcome to the forum. Please feel free to contact and communicate with people on this forum. The help they offer is invaluable. No one will judge you as we've all been or are going through debt crisis. If venting here means you can then have a calm conversation with your hubby then we are all happy to help. Debt is an emotional minefield so pop in and we'll help defuse things for you. Do seek professional advice as well from the free debt advisory services like previous posters have said. Good luck.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

Hi Penny.....Want to say welcome to both of you....believe me you are certainly not alone & in many ways you owe a lot to your good friend you has put you onto this forum. So many people deal with this awful situation themselves & I can only imagine the distress of not having others on here that genuinely want to help you & more importantly know just how you feel.
In terms of the debt...well....`you are where you are` so now its time to read up, get knowledgeable & speak to the right people . ie free debt charities ( don`t be fooled by these debt advisors that charge....impartial advice will always be free!!)
You sound like you have had a shock but BR does`nt mean you will lose your home, personal belongings or income...just the debt. Sounds like your hubby made a mistake & he just wanted to make life better for you both....luckily you have options now.
The realisation of the true debt position is the worst bit....when its out in the open at least you know what you are dealing with.
Hope that helps & try not to be too upset Honey.
