Problems with new graphics card

the temp was the same after moving the dvd drive from touching the card so I dont think it is the temp.
I need to either raise my dvd drive or buy a small one as I am sure it must be because it was touching the pipes on the card.

Was it just touching the pipes or could it be earthing other parts of the card?
i dont know how ppl get so much perfomance from a shutle as surely there aint much room for air flow.0 -
I've got a Shuttle SN85G4 v1 with a 6800GT in it. The combination works very well, but I did have to replace the chassis cover to improve airflow over the card, which is not passively cooled. I also had to disable AGP Fast Write in the system's BIOS, but that's another story...
If your system's internal layout is anything like that of mine, the root of the problem is almost certain to be overheating.0 -
It was touching the pipes. The manual says not to touch the card when it is running so I am pretty sure that was the problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
