taplady worth it then double pay! :j
Diva ended up gardening this morning and OH has climbed up and started chopping down the conifers :j he has lopped off about 12 feet , there is one more to do but he ( and I) have run out of steam, they look abit jagged lol but its letting more light in. I am hoping he will continue tomorrow ( he has a habit of starting but not finishing a job)
I dont think I will get them shaped at the top like you did lol, but it will save £250 or more by not getting any one in.
I have also chopped about 6 feet off a laurel tree , so there is one more conifer to chop and another one I would like to come down completely and then we can start on laying a patio at the bottom of the garden
still havent done my ironing , maybe later0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Reverbie, I have read your pm and will reply when I'm feeling a little calmer. You do realise that the person you are referring to is my sister?
SunnyGirl, is the early morning routine helping with the migranes?
taplady, I don't know how taplord copes with those hours.
redruby, I'd love to see the pics...I'll see if one of the kids is on facebook.
sistercas, thank you!
Cranky, I'm not going anywhere!
Welcome to Katatarina, pollys and milliemonster. :hello:
After a very late night and an early morning I was too tired to go to the museum with the Haribo family today so I opted to stay at home and wrap presents for ds2's birthday tomorrow and make him a birthday card. He's a strange child and asked this year rather than have a party if he could spend his birthday at the Mourne Mountains...so that's our plan for tomorrow. I'll need to get some meat out of the freezer as he's also asked if we can have a barbeque while we're down there. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that tomorrow is dry!
I've also done some gardening. The grass is cut and the compost bin turned. My plum tree didn't fruit last year but today I counted 19 flowers on it this year so hopefully we'll get some plums! :j The rhubarb is going mad so I picked a second load of rubarb and I'm going to make a rhubarb crumble for after dinner tonight which will be reheated turkey. I hope there is enough to go around as dd has just asked if she could have a friend to stay over tonight.
I hope you're all having a lovely Easter Monday.

Afternoon and a very happy Easter to one and all. Mrs Cat is back and had a fantastic time. I hope this leads on to more opportunities. Fingers crossed please.
All the recipes/hints/tips you gave me were fantastic and well used thank you.
May I say as a occasional poster(and sometime lurker) I am delighted that Harribo, Pink and Pen Pen are back with "us"(well you lot and me sometimes)
As I said in "that:eek::eek::eek:" thread there is more than enough room for everyone. Sure we sometimes disagree with each other but don't all friends from time to time. It is a bl00dy hard, cruel world out there, lets keep this the haven we all know and love.
We have made tea together tonight, Lamb with all the trimmngs (with HM spring veg soup( her) and sherry trifle(me). Looking forward to it.
Have a nice evening and please.......take it easy.0 -
I've been out in the garden and I'm baking  I've nipped in here to cool off, I'm going back out in about 10 mins.
By 7.30 this morning, two loads of washing were on the line, the kitchen had been cleaned and the animals sorted. By 10am, I'd been to the shop and done all the ironing (and there was LOADS ). Waking up at 3am isn't all badI've been munching on mixed salad leaves all day
Tonight we're knocking down part of the kitchen wall, so more brick dust  It's breeze blocks so the dust will be grey, everything's been covered in red brick dust for the last couple of days so it'll be nice to have a change of scenery :rotfl:
My normal OSing will be resumed tomorrow, I feel like I've been cheating for the last 4 days
Master tru is home, he had a great timeA bit too great if you ask me, he made full use of the coffee shops

Pink
I always go back to sleep when he's got up;)
He likes the time off in the afternoons for his pigeons(he races them) and his veggie growing.
Its great to have you and Haribo back again!(and PenPen):jDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good afternoon everyone  DH and I had a lovely morning in the garden. I dug out the compost bin, but found that it's really on its last legs
DH built it for me (from tannalised timber) about 19 years ago, so apart from the odd repair it's done really well. He's promised to build me another one later in the year, once the main gardening jobs are done :T We've done a lot of remodelling of the garden in the last couple of years, and it's beginning to look lovely, and just how we want it
We went out for a walk this afternoon, which was lovely. DH is now making mashed potato, as there's been a request for Toad-out-of-the-hole. Meal plans are only meant to be advisory, aren't they
I've been asked to go into work tomorrow, but just a short day. DD is in GCSE revision school for the day, so I need to collect her to go to a friend's house then a group of them are going to see some other friends in a concert (rock band). The weather forecast is looking good for me to cycle :T
See you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Its me who has to cope too! - such as getting him up in the morning( but I have to say he's really good at it) it also means he has to go to bed early to make up for it. I do worry about him with his poor health so dont ask him to do much around the house unless I am desparate.

Sorry taplady.I did think when I was typing that you probably have to cope with it too but quickly dismissed the idea because I'm not a morning person and if it was me I wouldn't be good enough to get up with him...in fact, with the hours I keep I'd probably pass him on my way to bed.

Afternoon all,
it's been beautiful here all day so the WM & washing line have been in heavy-duty action!!!! Youngest DD has been out with her father most of the day & she is now slightly pink as well! (so have got the aftersun out of the fridge for her to use).
My little sis has been here most of the day too, and made banana bread, and then some lemon meringue-y shortbread-y bars (recipe from a Barefoot Contessa - I think that's her name?!) programme. They are very yummy indeed....
CatmanWW - you summed it up very well, this is our little haven
WSybil - poor little bear, lol - is he rather overstuffed with chocolate now?
Pink, fingers crossed for the weather for you - and stop talking about rhubarb crumble - I want some. Now!!!
Hope Halight is ok - haven't heard from him for a few days (know he wasn't well though).
Diva
Was great to see a post from Mioliere yesterday, hope she gets sorted soon
Welcome to the newbies - I love the way this thread is expanding & there's more & more people to give me OS tips

Since we got back have spent the afternoon chilling in the garden, DD1 (8):rotfl::rotfl: said she was hot so nipped in to get shorts on....came out with DD2's on :rotfl:from last year 12-18 months :rotfl:, but they fit her .
