Morning everyone - hello and welcome Millie
.
Fingers crossed for another sunny day here. Have our bed to strip today - the fresh set is all set, although I think I'll wash and iron the antique pillow case I have been using - I thought how lovely and COTTON it is as I drifted off to sleep last night. It has lots of fancy thick lace-type pattern but it's at one end and I can tuck that under so it doesn't irritate my face.
Have towels to wash and some other bits as well, so will get that done. DH is home tonight after a week away with work and always comes back with loads of washing.
Have looked out my flower seeds from DD and they are a mix of wild flowers, butterfly flower (?), Sweet William -these were my granny's favourite flower. They are called Stinking Billy by the Scots apparently although I don't know anyone who calls them that (Duke of Cumberland - so 2 sides seen) (and I'm a Scot:p). So, didn't get round to planting the other day and WILL do it today. Should be easy especially as my young dog ate my pansies before I could get them out of their individual pots so I have plenty of pots:rolleyes:.
More things to look out for binning and charity shop. Will email DS and ask about a load of his books here - don't think he'll want them but would hate to assume.
Have been using a wonderfully moisturising shampoo bar for my hair which has cleared my eczema patch at the back of my head but it leave a kind of slick of grease on my hair. Not a fetching look. I think it is the amount of butters/ oils in the bar and wonder if a vinegar or apple cider rinse would clear the excess oil? Otherwise hair very shiny and I love the idea of less plastic packaging in the house by using a bar.
Ok, kettle boiled for 2nd cup of tea of the day.
Need to go out for some bread today and some dog biscuits - they had a very delicious dry cracker instead today:D.
Hope you all enjoy your day.
Hoping that penpin is feeling better and also that WS is ok.

Morning all
Damp and misty here in my bit of Essex this morning hopefully it will brighten up later as DH is still doing the decking and has taken this week off to do it we will be breaking up the old concrete steps later so lots of dust and mess again today.
Need to go to Lakeside at some point but will probably wait till next week as we need a new duvet as the one we have now is winter weight and we are getting too hot also need to get the light fitting for the lounge it was out of stock at Argos before we went away so hopefully its now back in.
Tea tonight is sweet and sour chicken with the leftovers from yesterday with apple crumble and custard.
Beth hugs to your brothers
Bargin Rzl  hope you are ok

Morning all,
Bed stripped and bedding on the line, it's a beautiful sunny day so perfect for me to get give wood garden furniture a coat of weatherproof stuff, the windows and 2 lots of patio doors could do with a coat aswell. If I have DGD (5wks today) I'll take her outside with me in her moses basket.
I've got some HM lamb burgers in the freezer, leftover pots & green veg to make bubble & squeek. Dinner sorted. House work can wait as I want to enjoy the weather.

Morning all.
Bored already and it's only 9 am or so.Hope to read a coupla books today as once again the weather is too awful to do any of the planned loads of walking I hoped to get in this weekend.
Dunno whats for dinner. Ended up with a bag of crisps and a yoghurt last night as we had no food in and all the shops were shut. Flatmate had a meal in the pub but when I got there to watch the match later they were no longer doing any. Still on the OS side that saved me about £5 at least lol.
Hope you all have a good day.:) xWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

One load in the wm, and another to go in, will get it all out today, I think we are going to price up a BBQ today, our last one died, and we thought we might have one for tea today, i have lamb burgers and sausages in the freezer.
Need to get little dog our for her walk, and then the day is ours, I might possibly get back into the garden, and ask OH to mow the lawn for me.
Ok take care all, and have good days xx0 -
Morning all!
Had a lovely day yesterday with my gran. My aunty uncle and cousins came over, one of my friends laughed at me when I said this last night because it makes me sound oldbut they grow up so fast!!! The youngest one is 16 months old now, babbling away, running everwhere and jumping off anything of height. They're all so gorgeous as well - and no, I'm not broody at all...
OS today - does having a dozen people over for a roast dinner count? I'm doing the meat, nut-roast and potatoes, the deal is everybody brings veggies, desserts and alcohol as a contribution. I've got some bananas to use up so I'm baking a banana, apple and plum crumble. Also have to do all the bedding, towels, etc, tidy my room, clean the cooker, go shopping...
Did something OS that I haven't done for years last night - I rag-wrapped my hair! Watched an old Rodgers and Hammerstein film called State Fair at my Gran's and it inspired me! My mum used to do it to me when I was a toddler, only thing is the only material I could tear into strips is some green velvet left over from a fancy-dress costume so I look like I have a bag of carrots on my head :rotfl:Anyway I
Right, busy day today so best shoot off for a much-needed cup of tea, (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) if anybody needs one, have a fab day everyone!

good morning
its beautiful in yorkshire today.
my plan for today is to do nothing. I have been on my best behaviour since friday as MIL has been here (she went home last night :j) so today apart from the ironing I am doing nothing
Sunnyday I agree I think early morning is the best part of the day, so quiet and peaceful, i love to sit and have a cup of tea outside first thing
Taplady poor OH my milkman left milk for 3 days on saturday, so I expect he is tucked up in bed this morning
i am hoping the shops are open today we have almost run out of toilet roll  I think someone must eat it there were at least 4 rolls on saturday
I hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday monday xx0 -
Morning all, lovely day again here :j
Quiet here as neither DSs were at home last night. Not got any specific plans for today but I might see if DH feels like going to thegarden centre.I want some sage as mine is looking very sparse.I planted some seeds yesterday too,so they're on the window sill, basil, salad leaves and tomatoes-they might be a bit late but we'll see how they do.
We shall have more of the beef I cooked yesterday in the sc for tea tonight. Now its cold I can slice it on my slicer and it will go further
Wmf-would love to know what bar you used on your hair-DS2 is always on the lookout for stuff to help his eczema.
Reverbe- at least the shops are open again today so you can get something to eat.Hope at least you had a good football result to cheer yourself up a bit.
Ravylesley_ I know the aquatic shop you mean,a friend of ours gets his fish from there,we don't have any but have looked around when the lads were young.
Have a nice day everyone and welcome Millie and Polly.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Greetings one and all
So far this morning I have looked out the window then gone to check that it is actually a bank holiday, because it is lovely and warm, sun is shining and there is not a cloud in the sky. today will be a lot of pottering about doing things like cutting the grass, tidying up,getting a few loads of washing done. Then if I have time I will pop out to the local motorcycle showroom dragging the OH and look at getting myself a helmet. Although I have been converted to money-saving ways this is one area where I don't tend to buy the cheapest.
I hope you all have a wonderful peaceful and relaxing day.Lightbulb Moment  Sept 2006
