    Morning OS friends! hi.gif
milliemonster and Pollys -welcome2.gifto the thread
Beth - no news from Tristan or our mutual friend.. :(
LadyMay - my mum always used rags in my hair. I had to laugh over you looking like a bunch of carrots though!
nic1lou2, Squiggles, Moggins, Sybil - *waves*
Halight - Where are you? Getting worried now.

Well we have had our digital switchover and both my freeview boxes have lost all BBC channels apart from BBC1... am wondering why I pay my TV licence if I am now only allowed to watch one channel. Even CBeebees is gone and the BBC news channel. Am more than a little peeved.

Had delicious ham hocks for lunch yesterday, thanks to some coaching by Beth! They were huge so we boiled 2 hrs and then crisped up in the oven for about 30 mins while we cooked the roast potatoes. Lots left for lunch and dinner tonight too. Spanish omelette I think with the left over roasties and veg too. How VERY OS... *chuckles*

Have put the shower curtains in the washing machine today with some bleach to try and get the pink mould off. Whatever happens will be an improvement. Threw in an old towel too to help 'agitate'.

Par baked rolls are in the oven for lunch to have with sausages cooked from freezer. (and maybe a fried egg!). As for chores, well the rest of the washing is out in the sunshine - its the third hot sunny day in a row here - FAB!

Enjoy the rest of your Bank holiday day!

    Warm gentle grouphug.giffor all.

Afternoon all.........(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.

The cleaning goes on, I decided that Monday was to be 'upstairs day' so duly started on the batheroom, tiles shower head taps etc, then I can to the window, another one that looks as if it has never had the frame cleaned since it was put in donkey's years ago took me 2 hours to get it anything like. Cleaned the gungy mess off the top of the bath panel, put up the glass shelf unit, so everything is away in the bathrrom and mopped the floor, which appears to be white, not pale grey!! The vinegar has taken a real bashing since we came here......

Quick dust and hoover round the bedroom, I closed my eyes when I got to the window, it can wait till next week. In between I have shoved 2 loads in the washer, most of it is on the line, just one load still to do, will use the remote control, so its ready to hang out when I get up in the morning.

A friend told me that had 2 bags of compost for £6 in Asda.As I need to go to Dunelm and Asda is just across the road will be having a bit of a jaunt tomorrow morning.

I am convinced the apartment was just too warm for us, since we came here we have been waking earlier and myself , I have not been feeling so tired.

OH cleaned the patio door and front window this morning, then spent an hour in the garden, finishing off the edges of the lawn.........

Putting my feet up for the next hour, then I just might go and do some ironing....................

Supper tonight, cold shoulder of lamb with salad and the remains of the apple and rhubarb crumble.......

    Hmmmmmmm,

OH has informed me not only is he not coming back til tomorrow, I have to cover for him for the first couple of hours of rehearsals in the morning. Not a happy Easter bunny  Mini- rant over, he's not getting any crumble now :p

Room blitzed, shopping done, bookcase sorted, crumble made, nothing needs doing for a little while now, might escape to the garden with a book.... Reading 'The Endof Mr Y' at the moment, bl*ody brilliant!

Bethebee - Good job on the Freecycle! Have to say I get a tad annoyed with them because everyday I have 100s of emails from them! Might try and find an old bike on there though...

    Glorious day today :T (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

    xx

Was supposed to go for a drive along the coast today but I'm just not up for it- feel like having a lazy day (although I MUST tidy underneath the stairs today)

Do you hang your washing out by remote control.? :rotfl:

    Afternoon everybody:hello:

Just conjured up a lunch from assorted leftovers -feels so good - fishcakes from the freezer for me and OH and leftover mash made into cakes with a bit of flour and chopped cooked bacon for the kids with peas and other veg ;) . My veg drawer in the fridge is almost empty. I do like it when I haven't 'overbought'.

Leftovers for tea too. I roasted a big chicken yesterday for lunch. The carcase is simmering with some veg for stock and the rest of the meat is in the fridge. I'm using two thirds of it for a Thai curry tonight, the remaining third for something tomorrow -orzotto/hash? We had chicken sandwiches for tea last night. So that's 4 meals for 5 plus the stock which will go in the freezer. I also poured off the fat from the roast into a little bowl to keep in the fridge for frying potatoes.

The sun is shining today and we have the doors and windows open. i might go and sit in the garden with my cuppa later.

OH has bought a freesat box -anyone else got one? We're really impressed, they work like Sky Plus but without the Sky. Just being able to watch programmes when it suits us (ie when the kids have gone to bed) is fantastic and being able to record something whilst watching another channel is great for those 'oh no Primeval clashes with Doctor Who!' moments. It is so easy to use too.

    Afternoon all

Had to go and do a food shop this morning, Mr T didn't open till 9am so sat outside for 15 mins. Now I am doing extra hours I can't lounge at home waiting for Mr T to deliver mid morning on a Tuesday as I am hard at work ;)

Just done a pile of ironing so we have some clean clothes to go to work, and last batch of hobnobs are in the oven. Just pulled out a tray of very golden brown ones as was busy reading the thread and forgot about them :o

Was going to have stirfry with noodles tonight with some chicken but saw a lovely large Gressingham duck in Mr Ts for £3.75 so will have that instead mmmmmmm nice.

Hope everyone is having a nice Bank Holiday Monday, it actually looks like its going to brighten up here in Kent very soon as its not so gloomy sitting here typing at the mo.

    Good afternoon,

This morning I walked down to the shops with the little person to buy some milk. We have some, but as ds and dh go through cow loads of the stuff, I just wanted to be sure that I had plenty.

I have done the ironing and put it all away, and cleaned ds's bedroom. Ds and I have made the rabbit plaster moulding kit that he was bought for Easter by our next door neighbour (a kind lady who understands that not all children like chocolate). The bunny has been painted and I am having a 5 minute break before fetching the hoover to hoover up all the spilt glitter.

We had chicken yesterday, so we're having enchiladas made with the rest of one half of it tonight. The other half has been sliced up and frozen for some easy dinners. I also bought some orange juice this morning. Dh is very good at making Tequila Sunrises :D as well as enchiladas.

Dh is out doing mysterious things to the boat. I made him take the car so that apart from the walk down to the village I would be forced to stay in and clean :rotfl:. Best crack on!

Take care all of you, and Haribo and Pink, please stay!
