Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Easter Monday. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning peeps

i can tell that it`s early because i can`t get my fonts right :D i shall have a play around afterwards.
I`ve just emptied the washing machine and now there is another load going around so that i can take advantage of the cheap electricity - hope the weather is good or i shall have nowhere to hang it all. The breadmaker hasn`t been on as we have both been off w*rk so we don`t need it, most of it goes on packed lunches so i shall make one later for DH tomorrow.

Yesterday was a lovely quiet peaceful day, not had one of those for a long long time and it was lovely. Today will be back to normal as there are lots of things that need to be done including potting on some seedlings and planting some seeds that have finally sprouted. The grass needs a cut and the bed needs stripping. The bathroom still needs a clean as although i`ve been promising it for the last couple of days it has only had a swish and swipe and the tiles really do need a good scrub as the grouting is a strange colour in a few places. I shall make a list shortly of everything that i hope to do today as later my mind will be the usual blank and i`ll only remember when it is too late.

Little old houndie is upstairs with DH and both are fast asleep, the ever increasing in size younger houndie is here with her Mum and looks very cute and a bit tired. The cat is also keeping me company and i shall pop down the garden shortly to open the greenhouse window and take them both with me. I love the early mornings as they are so peaceful. In a while the we can watch the sun come up and see everything come to life - my idea of bliss.

I`m off to make another cuppa, enjoy your day everyone.

SD

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Morning Sunnyday and all who follow

I am up early too, we get up so early when we are at work that I find it hard to sleep in now and by 6 ish I am aching and have to get up - what I would give to be able to sleep late!!!

Today is to be more of pottering around the house. Hubbie sorted out pantry yest and put some extra shelves up, so think may just give it a fresh lick of paint too and then it will be finished.

Want to do some more planting out in garden too - very inspired after looking at Redruby's pictures of her planting on facebook!!!:D

Also need to do some baking for packed lunches for rest of the week. Bm and wm on at moment.

Friends rang last night and said they will have a BBQ if weather good again today - so we shall see what happens!

    Have a good day peeps

Good morning Sunnyday & all who follow.

Up early again here as part of my 'see if it cuts down on my migraines experiment'. I have to say I'm enjoying the peace before the rabble get up :rotfl:. I'll peg the washing out as it looks ok so far & I'm in today so I can always bring it in & put it on the airers upstairs.

Dinner this evening is meatballs in tomatoe sauce & spaghetti which always goes down well with everyone :T Lunch is mixed veg & lentil soup & a sandwich. I'm going to get some cross stitching done this afternoon I hope. DH still on nights until Wednesday morning so no plans for a day out anywhere.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to whoever needs one or if you would like one anyway.

Sybil - Hope you, dear heart & Little Bear are ok.

Good Morning. Up early to get some sorting out done. Hoping that I can get rid of some bunk beds on freecycle today as someone didn't bother to collect as agreed. Got quite a bit of cleaning to do, my 4 children demolished their Easter Eggs, and chocolate cake I made, and now the floors need a mop.

Have a good Bank Holiday everyone.

Morning Everyone its a lovely day here and in fact its been a fabulous easter weekend both in having fun and weatherwise.I hope everyone else has had a good time.Off to get a shower and get dressed in a mo as we are off to the aquatic shop in Bolton for a nosey and perhaps buy a couple of fish.Hubby cant resist so will probably indulge him. After that we are taking the kids to Likkle Monkeys as I won a couple of passes on the local radio so I only need to pay for two and they have a treasure hunt on this morning so could be fun. After that it will be home for lunch and then if its still lovely weather I want to get the decking swept and washed and the grass cut.Washing is already out on the line and another load is in the washer so will get that out when I get back.Need to us some beef up so its cottage pie for tea which will make OH happy.

Sorry havent had chance to catch up on the daily over the weekend as my laptop has finally died so I have to use the pc and the kids get mighty touchy if I nick it for too long:D.So (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to those who need them and  for those that something wonderful has happened to

Morning everyone, its the first time I've joined in this thread so please be gentle with me!

Well, dh is back at work today (boo!) although he is only there until lunchtime so I think I am going to clean the bathroom and get the ironing done this am, probably will do some baking aswell as the kids have almost demolished all the baking I did over the weekend, my veg patch is shaping up nicely but some of the seeds I sowed a couple of weeks ago still haven't come up (leeks/carrots/cabbage) so I have put some more in, but these ones in the greenhouse instead to see what happens.

Finally will have to figure out what I'm going to do with all the tomato plants I have, I have never grown them before so put a load of seeds in and they're all growing like mad!!!!!

Not sure what I'm going to do for tea tonight, we had a roast dinner yesterday so it will be something quick and easy tonight I think, loads of roast beef leftover from yesterday, what can I do with that then?

    Morning peeps

It looks like we might have another nice day today :j I can get some stuff done in the garden, went out there for an hour yesterday ....more like 3 hours.....I dont know if you are all the same but I put off going out there and when I do everyone starves :rotfl:I get so carried away.

Just done the veg for the SC, beef is almost thawed so I will get that sorted and put on, then when I do go outside it will be cooking merrily away on its own.

OH finished painting the bedroom yesterday so we can go order the carpet now, I want it fitted before we go away, then the room can be put back together again.

Welcome to you Millie you will love it here we are all very friendly :D

(((HUGS))) to all in need x

Off to empty the WM and get the washing on the line now, see you later.
    Have good days all

    Good Morning All

I too am going to have a day pottering around the house and garden, OH is staining fence panels today so I might help him do that. Will do some washing & only have a tiny ironing pile so will get that done.

Probably need to pop to focus for more garden supplies, also am going to take DD to a new tea room that has opened nearby on a local goat farm. Every now and then I pop in there to pick up some ice cream for DD who loves it & they are quite happy for you to wander around and look at the goats.

Ham egg and chips for dinner, will not be doing a big shop till later in the week so will be cooking out of the freezer this week, both freezers are bursting so wont be a problem.

Going to have a nice quiet surf then jump in the shower, have a great day.x

Hi Millie  we're all very friendly here. Not sure about your leftover roast beef - maybe shepherds pie, stir fry, a plate pie (or 3 ;)) There is a lot of recipes at the beginning of the Grocery Challenge that may help. See post number 2. HTH.
