Trying to find the darkest self tan

Hey everyone,
I've had the celeb secrets for a while and always applied it with a mitt, but I remembered that I had the Babyliss Spray Tan system lurking in my loft. So in my wisdom, I thought I would give it a go with my celeb secrets solutions. Well my god, my legs are now an unnatural shade of deep mahogany tinged with orange!! I haven't washed the guide colour off yet so maybe it will get better, hoping it will get better!!
Anyone else done this?

Hello hieveryone, that surprises me I thought all the various professional products were designed to be used with a tanning machine , I think it probably will be a bit lighter when you wash off the colour guide, I have never used a machine myself, whats the control like? Does it go everywhere? I'll probably stick to my mit but would be interested to know, let us know how you get on:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

The colour itself is pretty 'even', i.e not streaky, but it is a god awful colour to be honest! The machine is ok, I think it was £50 or so from Boots, it is flipping noisy! And I use it in the bathroom so that I can just wash the bath after me, it doesn't go everywhere as such, but the fine mist can land everywhere where you wouldn't notice if you see what I mean? I'm going to go and wash it off soon because I feel like my legs are radioactive right now! x

Hi all!
Tanning is going well, certainly not letting my colour get any lighter even if it is getting colder!
Hieveryone, do you think your tanning machine is applying it thicker therefore making it darker? Perhaps you should try with a lighter solution or maybe water down your existing solution? I'm impressed that the colour is even - don't think I would trust myself with a spray tan machine!0 -
Thanks, I might just do that! It may have applied it thicker, it is a possibility! Probably a bit out of practice with the machine, so may try that. The solution is only 12% anyway, but a little bit of watering down won't do much harm I guess!
Thanks for the idea! x

Hi, i hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread but i just wanted to say thanks for all the great tips and advice, i have certainly needed it.
I have just recently 'bleached' my hair blonde and it made my skin look very washed out and pale, so i used my rimmel fake tan which i had in my bedroom, it's ok, but i am going to go and give the siennasol a go:D
Really need to get a good colour as i am going to NYC next month and want to look good in the pics:p0 -
I have just watched a youtube vid of siennasol being applied and she raves about it, and it looks good, but i think as i am so pale i will start off with the lesser DHA0

It should of got better now.
The guide colour in all tans can be a bit hit & miss as it doesn't work with the natural colour of your skin, it is like a one size fits all paint on colour. You could make the guide colour bright green (sometimes it even goes green if left open) but the tan would still end up a nice natural colour.
Incidentally the worst things to send the guide colour off is perfume & deodorants (which can go a very unflattering green), then steer clear of AHA's (in some anti-ageing creams) after you apply the tan as these can bleach your tan off.
Glowgirl, gel is initially just the 16% Extreme but we have plans to produce it in all colours. A moisturiser is on it's way as well.
You can get spray tan without the instant bronzer, it is just like water it only reacts with the skin so it "should" leave your walls & carpets clean. We use it all the time as it saves on the mess you get from the over spray on an airbrush.

Thank you, will the gel have a colour guide? Also as deodorants also effect the colour guide it works the other way too, deodorants are less effective if you put them on at the same time as your tan:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

The gel does have a guide colour (but not quite as dark as the liquid). You are correct the deodorants don't work so well with the guide colour still on but don't get affected by the developed tan.0
