I'm scared! Ive just followed the St Tropez official video for Bronzing fake tan lotion. It confused me because there was a point where they said "take off your gloves", and I did so and realised that I hadn't done my back (or rather they didnt advise about doing your back). I have to go out tomorrow night and am now scared what tomorrow morning will bring!!! Its so uneven on my bod!!!Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0

Did you buy a back apllicator? or maybe you have a willing person to put some on for you, try going back through this thread for application tips, if you have time post on here how you tan turned out and one of us will try to help if you need it, the main thing with St Tropez or similar products is to make sure you have no white patches on application but dont panic too much most problems can at least be made to look better;)Remember it is only fake tan:DBest of luck and enjoy your night out:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Glowgirl-have you ever used the Siennasol bronze? IF so, what were your results like? I want to be tan but not SUPER tan...atleast not until the summer! Is extreme ridiculously dark? Darker than bronze? Has anyone else tried both bronze and extreme? Which did you like better?
Thanks!0 -
I havnt used any ss product apart from the extreme, it sounds darker than it is and of course the end result is dependant on your own skin tone and how you apply an example of this is I am very pale with a pink tint, one light layer of ss extreme gives me a med-dark colour, two layers (another layer a day later) gives me a slightly darker colour but with a richness to it however my dd who is very light olive with yellow undertones cant wear extreme as one layer comes out super dark and she dosent like it, in the summer she will wear a light layer of 6 or 8% from Celebrity Secrets and she will be as dark as me with 2 or more layers of extreme:rolleyes:others on here add dha drops to extreme to make it darker, looking at your first post I can see you have colouring similar to mine, but if you have been using your sunbed your skin tone might be different, of course if you are tanned from the bed your product will come out darker, imo I would give the extreme a go:) As you are in the US just thought I would mention a couple of products you might be interested in, I havent tried these cos I cant get them here and tbh I wouldnt change from ss anyway but might be worth a look, the first is Banana Boat self tan and the second is Neutrogena Sef Tan both are supposed to give a dark colour that looks natural and not break the bank, I doubt they'll be as cheap as ss though, lets us know what you think or how you get on, best of luck:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Hi, can anyone recommend a self tan that turns out really dark, preferably in spray form with a colour guide but any suggestions are welcome, and of course the cheaper the better.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:Actually some people mix cocoa powder with moisturiser to make a light coloured 24 hour colour and of course gravy browning, the old fashioned liquid type, is another natural, temporary colourant that was used during the war when stockings were unavailable, very mse:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Hey. Dragged out my spray tanning kit and apart from getting it all over the bathroom was sucessfull. Except the back of my heels lol they always go funny...a good scrub with the pumice stone in bath sorts it out though.
Love the colour looked like id been on holiday for 2-3 weeks. Lasted a week before the dreaded scaley patchy dirty look (on neck esp). Need to do again but it is a lot of hastle for a tan.
A friend of mine at works uses the melotan injections...he's very dark but hell no way am i going down that route. Needles no. Spray gun i can handle lol.
Btw using the 12% and happy for now x x x:cool:0 -
Hi, you could try using a mitt instead of a spray gun, you get more control and product dosent usually end up all over the place also a top up after a light scrub every couple of days or so rather than letting it fade down over a week should avoid that patchy fade, I have read a lot about melanotan and wont be going down that route either quite apart from the health implications I have read that parts of your body are darker than others, the people I have seen who have used melanotan (only pics online) look very orange to me as well, not really a good look all round I think;)
Just wanted to add that baths and using lots of shower gel, moisturising products etc all cause patching and fading, gosh I'm such a slave to my fake tan:DThank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
I've tried the Siennasol about 20 times now and it turns me orange every time. I'm so pale I'm translucent, and even if I apply it very thinly, I turn orange. While the color guide is on, it looks very nice and dark brown. But once I take a shower, the color underneath the guide is orange. Now, since the color guide doesn't have much of a smell, doesn't stain my clothes, and is brown until I shower it off, I could definitely wear it out with a bit of bronzing spray on top. But the color guide looks orange and dirty on my face (not to mention a completely different color than the rest of my body). Ugh, I really thought this was it this time. I guess I'm the only person on the planet who can't find a self-tanner that will actually make them tan, not orange or just having a "radiant glow". I don't want a golden tan, I want a nice BROWN tan. Similar to siennasol's color guide. It really sucks because I ended up with the wrong skin color at birth. I look like I should have been casted a role in The Addam's Family. I can't pull off the Dita Von Teese look. For those of you who are as pale as me and use this stuff, how is it not orange for you? Have you checked how you look in natural daylight? I always have to check. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have any idea that I was orange.0

Hi Exotick, I understand your frustration, dd doesn't get on with ss either it really is a skin tone thing, the best suggestion I can give you is to try a lower strength and again apply lightly and layer, the other products in the ss range are a lower % but I would suggest a different brand maybe Celebrity Secrets, dd gets on well with a 6% I believe they do a 4% as well, there is something I have heard of that is your skin could be dha resistant, although your getting a colour its not coming out 'true' I don't know much about this but when I have a bit more time I'll do a bit of research and see what comes up, maybe someone else can advise? You could also try a spray on instant colour, I doubt it will be as dark as you want and it will wash off but if you don't like pale (I know where your coming from with that) it could be a good temporary solution, I used to like Loreal Glamazon, although its expensive and certainly not very mse, I am also wondering if the spray tan solution might not be right for your skin, a cream might be better, just an idea not sure if it would make a difference like I say when I have some spare time I'll hunt about, sorry I cant be of more help hopefully someone will come along soon with some other ideas:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0
