Hi all
Just to let you know I'm alive - just had family round last night so no time to get online! am away this weekend also.
look forward to catching up when i'm back. good luck to hexMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
hex - just popping in to wish you the very best of luck for today!
Diving into town mega quick to get cheques for DS1 and DD's provisional driving licences. My babies all grown up and learning to drive - aarrgh!! (DS1 was promised this last year, and I never got round to it)
I also have to buy confetti - I forgot it yesterday, and a pretty card to put the wedding present cash in - impossible to find something they haven't got, so decided I'd give them the cash, and they can choose something they need or want in the house or garden later.
May pop in later if I have time, we're leaving after lunch. If not, have a good couple of days everyone!!
toots - thanks for the reminder - but it's going to have to wait for Sunday now!! And I hate planning on Sunday...It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Question: Does anyone have blackout blinds in the kids rooms? Are they any good and where is the best place to get them?
We've had one from Argos and one from M&S...the M&S one was about £5 more expensive but the blinds were exactly the same....and I mean exactly...they instructions were the same too! Think we paid £20 but our bedroom windows are a reasonable width.
Mozzy...hope you're feeling better soon.
Jill....glad you had a better evening
Soapie...hope you've woken up feeling a bit better about things.
SS...my niece at 10 years old ended up with something age 16 at M&S...thank god she thought it was great and didn't get a complex about her size. (she is a normal healthy weight...not skinny but not overweight). I have also found that DD1 ends up with a size bigger than she is too.
Off to get DH out of bed with cup of tea. He's off today and as I worked last night and he wanted to go to the Man City game the girls stayed over at SIL's house so we need to pick them up too.0 -
Morning all
Dalies done, just trying to find some missing bits to a toy I want to ebay. Morning plan is to photo ebay stuff and do living room. The ortho/lunch/shops then do my listings. I was reading the ebay challenge thread last night.
Hex - good luck this afternoon
G&B you can get blackout blinds in JL. You can buy blackout fabric to make curtains blackout. I have a blackout blind on ebay at the moment. Next might do them too.
Irrie - yes we still do them when on holiday, we have done most of the ones local to us. Still one which illudes us. We met some people in the Lake District who were planning there whole holiday around doing them.
Soappie - it is better to care and bare the burden than to not care at all. Well done for being such an important member of your community.
Decided kids have watched far too much tv/dvd/ps2 this holiday so it is being turned off now!The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Serena - just sending you a quick email which you might want to read before going out xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Honestly, I'm not sure who their clothes are designed for, but my DD3 is skinny skinny skinny, and M&S clothes in her age are too small all over. It just makes me think that they are perpetuating the myth that women should be tiny! DD2 was really conscious that the clothes age 9 (which she is) are way too small, and we're going to need age 11 for her. She sat saying "am I fat Mummy?":mad::mad::mad::mad: (she isn't! But now doesn't believe me, because if she wasn't 'fat' she'd fit into her age group - wouldn't she!!:mad:) GGGRRRRRRR it really annoys me.Rant Off
My DD has a similar problem. She's naturally thin (takes after her dad it would seem) but really tall. She's just turned 8 and is wearing anything from an age 8 to 11-12 clothes depending on which shop, whether its top/bottom and whether we buy "branded" or cheap. The Sprayway 3-in-1 waterproof I've just bought her is an age 8 and fits her great, but she's currently wearing 9-10 jeans from george and an 8-9 vest top from Matalan, but she has Next tops which are 11-12 and fit her but don't get me started on Primark . Tell you're DD she's not fat in anyway, my DD has been wearing clothes that are bigger than her for years and its the shops that are at fault. Huge hugs to her as well. :grouphug:
G&B - I have blackout blind from Argos in my DD's room. Its good, would be even better if it fitted properly (window recess is hopeless for putting the blind in), and actually upIt came down the other week and I need some wedges of wood to put it back up as I've bent one of the brackets so now the gap between is too big:o I had to replace it a few months ago (can't remember why now) and cut down the one that was in there and put it up in the kitchen
I love them, and if I had my way (and I could get them long enough) I'd have them on all the windows upstairs :rotfl:
