Evening All and Happy Easter
I've been at work today - just completed my second shift at the hotel - over 100 for Sunday lunch today:eek: Did a combo of bar and waiting, few more pennies earned during these early days since being made redundant. Must find out when we get paid and how!
Having a family meal of roast beef with all the trimmings tonight. All left over meat will become pasties tomorrow or Tuesday.
Thinking about counting my 5p jar to pay into the bank, as I've just renewed a susbscription with a voiceover website I get work through.
Hope everyone's ok and enjoying the extra days off workComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

prayers said for your friend betheebee.
Reverbe -I'm also on my own today and I'm getting on with it by keeping busy, reading a lot and not venturing out. Will get the dogs walked eventually.
No cleaning took place today, despite plans.
Did some pruning in the garden though.
Tea was HM quorn lasagne from freezer - had it with a baked potato as I was feeling like a greedy pig, and sprouting broccoli and 4 asparagus stalks which were incredibly delicious. Oh, and a glass of cold crisp Pinot Grigio. I set the table and used my favourite vintage napkin, with an embroidered white washed cottage. I hope you will have something better for you than a pack of crisps reverbe. It's good for you to take care of yourself (((hugs))).
Would watch some telly now but can't seem to work it. Hate technology (apart from this lovely computer which keeps me in touch with you lovely friends:p).

Evening all
BBQs went ok, we did one at 12 & then another at 3 when BIL arrived with 3 kids & a female, everyone had loads to eat & drink, they finally left about half an our ago with an Easter egg each. BIL is moving of Friday to a flat, no doubt he'll get thrown out of there when he doesn't pay the rent for 6 months.
The lodger was very good & everyone played with he, she is now asleep on her bad totally exhausted.
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester

Evening all how are we doing? Been a strange day here in that nothing different has gone on just because its Easter Sunday although its been a nice sunny day. Spoke to my Mum earlier and she's very upset they're not letting Dad out until a minimum of a week. We understand that the hospital need to sort him out but they keep saying 'maybe tomorrow' which is upsetting for Mum and I. I'm going to go to York on Wednesday morning and stay with her in the caravan for a few days. Mum has angina herself & I'm worried about how she's holding up. She says its very strange in the van on her own. She's doing well though & I'm very proud of her :A It's a lesson in patience for me as usually I'd be straight up getting stuck in with practical arrangements - its what I'm good at, not worrying & being able to do nothing.
The gammon for dinner was lovely and enjoyed by all. I fed DS2's friend too so was glad I'd done extras of everythingDD has gone out to a party/sleepover with some college friends & DS1 is out at a local country park where there's been an Easter fair thingy on. I went down with DH, DS3 & the dog earlier, we were planning on having a look round, but they wanted admission of £3 for DS and £5 each for adults   We did the dog walk round but didn't pay to go in as the rides were all £1.50 each anyway. It's a shame as its a lovely place & there's usually some good free entertainment on - owl keepers, jugglers, make your own kite type of thing. The only consolation was that it didn't look busy & there were lots of people complaining about the price :rotfl:
I hope that everyone else has had a good day.
Bethebee - Prayers for you dear friend on their way.
Nic1lou2 - I did a beef gravy with red wine a few months ago & found it way too strong I'll only use half a glass maximum for flavour in future. You could water it down with stock then re-thicken it IYSWIM?
Bargainbird - Definitely go to the doctorsIt's probably just your body adjusting after the birth but get it checked out.
Reverbe - Come back & post on the daily - there's always support for us all on here.
(((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))) for everyone who needs one today.0 -
Reverbe
Come back and post- we're on your side!!!!
Sybil
I'm hoping Lb's excitement at Easter is keeping you to busy to log in. Hope you are all OK.
Had a late lunch as DH transfered the pork from the slow cooker to the Remoska to be helpful-I got back- Remoska stone cold- thought it was broken - eventually found he had not plugged it in!!!!!
DD(15) shocked at the posh Belgian chocs I got her instead of an Easter egg - her mouth dropped open! Think she is pleased.
Looking forward to the final episode of Red Dwarf tonight and trying not to think of trying to get the house sold! Even if we do sell - the houses for rent are getting snapped up really quickly!
Hand washed DD(20)'s silk top and hung it on the line outside. Fingers crossed.
Betheebee
Thinking of your friend and hoping things improve.
It's turning cold so putting the central heating on for a while as DDs look frozen!
Hugs to everyone"This site is addictive!"
