    Stuff to stop us going;)

For some bizarre reason, I thought you meant viagra and condoms!!! :o
Not senna or dehydration replenishment powder!!!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

Vinegar does not help wasp stings or any other insect stings. It ia an old wives tale. The idea is that since wasp stings are alkali and bee stings acid they can be neutralised using vinegar and biacrbonate of soda respectively. However this doesn't work because the mechanism of the sting is much more complicated than that and because the poison in the sting is injected under the surface of the skin whereas the vinegar/ bicarb just sits on top.

Also you should not use tweezers to remove a bee sting as this may result in squeezing the poison sac and injecting the remaining contents under the skin. The same is likely to occur if the stinger is grasped between thumb and forefinger. Instead the sting should be scraped out with a fingernail.

I have a shoe box which is quite well stocked though not on the whole with very OS style stuff:

I have soluble asprin, soluble paracetamol, also non-soluble of each and ibuprofen, all generic
    Clove oil
A crepe bandage and ankle support tube
Steri-strips, plasters, zinc oxide tape, micropore tape, clear wash-proof tape A styptic pencil
    Eye drops
Olbas oil, Vicks Sinex, Antiseptic + anaesthetic sore throat lozenges, Halls soothers, half a bottle of mentolated bronchial balsam
    Rennies
Bottle of tea-tree oil, tube of germolene
Freebie samples of arnica massage cream and Pernaton gel (for if I strain something trampolining) also tubes of deep heat and deep freeze
Bottle of Piriton just in case

On a more OS note ankle/knee support can be improvised using an old sock with the toe cut off and a roll of gaffer tape or gaffer tape over a crepe bandage. This can also be used if a stiffer support is required than is provided by normal support bandages.

And a sports sock can be filled with rice and lavender essential oil, heated in the microwave for about a minute and makes a very comforting heating bag for monthly tummy aches ;):D

Don't need tweezers, rule is if it doesn't wash out leave it in for the professionals to deal with.

Icepack is always in the freezer for DPs ankle. Medicine cupboard is seperate which has all the medications, treatments, oils etc in.
One day I might be more organised...........

Totally agree ref tweezers, I only use them if there is ever need for the steri-strips to be used again! They can be fiddly little blighters!

Also please don't rely on carrier bags as sick bags in the car. I recently found out that the breathing holed let more fluid out than you would imagine!
