There's a checklist of items from the BabyCentre website: First Aid Checklist specifically for travelling and another on the same site First Aid Kit Shopping List

Travel Doctor Website also has a list of suggestions.

For home, Net Doctor First Aid has a list of suggestions

The ST John's Ambulance Website offers First Aid advice in MP3, ACC and RealPlayer formats - it's one thing to have the kit, it's another to know what to *do*! ;)

Funny I was thinking about doing the same thing only the other day, so I shall be watching this thread with interest.

  • In mine I have...

    20 x Hypoallergenic Plasters
    2 x Eye Pads
    1 x Triangular Bandage
    6 x Safety Pins
    2 x Small Bandages
    2 x Medium bandages
    2 x Large bandages
2 x packs of sterile swabs (10 swabs in all)
    hypoallergenic tape
    6 x Low adherent dressings 5 x 5cm
    3 x Low adherent dressings 10 x 10cm
1 x Sterile burn gel dressing
    12 x alcohol free wipes
    4 pairs of vinyl gloves
    4 x Clinical waste bags
    2 x Eye wash pods
    Ibuprofen
    Calpol
    Neurophen (Children's)
    Rescue remedy
    Germolene

This may seem a lot but I work in childcare so with the exception of the medicines, these are the things I use at work on a fairly regular basis and because I have children, I just stocked up on the same! Don't use the gloves when dealing with my family but from habit I do use them if I deal with anyone else who needs first aid. I also take the first aid kit when we go on holiday (yes, I know I'm over cautious :o ), so they're there if I need them.
It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

I knew I'd posted about First Aid Kits already this month ... now I've found it :D

In this thread, January is the month for OS ...
.... spring cleaning my medicine cupboard :D

Checklist for Medicine Box - I've printed off their list (with tick-y boxes ;) ) which I'll use as a shopping list, but also keep a copy inside the lid of the box.

Another List + Where to keep the medicine box

Airing out the medicine box (includes a bit on Winter meds/symptoms/what to use )

Where to Dispose of safely - this has an audio bit to listen to and relates to Tesco Pharmacy.

I keep a small car first aid kit, it came in a safety pack with the car (from the leasing company)so I'm not sure what's in it exactly.

I have a Boots small evelope type travel kit in my suitcase that I take on business trips, plasters etc.

In the kitchen drawer I have plasters, bandages, finger stall and bandages for it, in cabinet high up in wall in cloakroom we have various strength painkillers, cough linctus, lemsip in various forms, rennies and sinutab.

I also keep some painkillers in the drawer by my bed.
