I'm sure I keep killing this thread. Oh well, off to yoga now. Query for you all, have any of you thought about god parents? Do people still have god parents and what is the usual way of going about it? I have no idea!
Chris has 'just' 2 rather than the usual 3 mostly because there isn't anyone else we are close to so they are my sister and OH's brother and will be the same for this one

Tigster - where about in manchester are you round this side?

speaking of manchester no sign of Damzel for a while

Did you at least see a MW after the scan?

Briefly, for about 10 mins, and all she did was explain the options for screening. She said my community midwife would tell me the rest at the booking appt. Seems normal to have that kind of delay round here.

I wasn't aware of the differences the first time around because I hadn't discovered the joys of MSE yet  but I have since learnt that the ante natal care here is fab!

Lucky, lucky, lucky :rotfl: Round here it seems to be "a sweary word". Wouldn't mind, but you'd think they might want to keep an eye on me, given my (ahem) age

I'm over in the east, and come under the Central Hospitals PCT. On the plus side, there's going to be a brand new maternity unit, in the new St Mary's building, opening this summer.

Uusally only if baby is going to be christened or have a naming ceremony I think. A lot of people don't bother.

We had our two baptised at the same time - as they are only 13 months apart they were both still babies at the time. We had 2 men and a woman for the boy and 2 women and a man for the girl. We chose people we were close to who had a similar life ethos and moral code to ourselves, but we didn't specifically require them to be church goers or believers. 1 of our first choices turned us down though because he wasn't a believer and didn't want the "god" part of "godparent" though was happy to be a close family friend to the baby. Everyone else was very pleased to be asked when reassured that they were not required to alter any of their beliefs to do the job, just continue to be the kind of good role models we thought they would be for our children!

They're triplets darling ;) I appreciate that having 3 must be hard work but I wholeheartedly agree with you - she doesn't have a thyroid problem - she has a takeaway problem!
What you have to wonder is how is she paying for that much rubbish food??? Seriously? Takeaway is a treat round here (well used to be when I wasn't pregnant :rotfl: slightly more junk food since falling pregnant... oooops!) because it's not cheap!
