Tickle did they scan you today? is bubba feet down or bum down?

Dr did do a scan but I didnt get to see. But they said if babies foot was by its head they wouldnt try the ECV so I assume it is feet down... but I havent the foggiest. Dr did suggest we try for breech birth or C section so I "assume" (bad word I know) bubs is in a good position.

    Hey,
Just a quick question - spoke to receptionist at doc's surgery last week who confirmed the positive result they'd got back. She said doc would take a look then refer me, and then someone would be in touch. All sounded a bit vague! Just wondered when i should be expecting to see/hear from someone?

I'd say at a guess chase them after a week or 2 depending how far gone you are?
You should really see a MW by 10weeks at latest if possible

Oh to be under your PCT, Sami!

I got my letter from the midwife within two weeks of the GP confirming my pregnancy, but I am still waiting for that appointment  Had my scan at 12 weeks, but I won't actually see the community midwife for my booking appt until I'm 14+4

Hope you get a better response time, NewbieMaz ;)

I'm definitely having a hospital birth... Unless I'm one of those lucky women who has a 20min labour and delivers on the bathroom floor the 2nd time around...

If it was just the Drs I'd of stood my ground and pushed for a homebirth... But hubby's mother is a munchy so he's been bought up thinking everything needs clinical intervention... I just don't have the energy to fight him too...

Tickle, our hospital apparently has a CS only policy for breech babies so it's great that they're letting you try naturally first!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Crikey tiger - even here we get the booking in before that! booking in should be between 8 and 12 weeks - never heard of booking in app being after 14 weeks before!

BTW can't recall who asked but the MAT1B form was given here at the 25 week appointment (checked my notes!) - so I would just ask at your 25 week appointment :)

  • I've been busy today - not actual work, but sorting out a leaving pressie for one of the girls :) Just managed to catch up on the afternoon posts. I felt really crappy last night, just down and miserable, but I couldn't shake it. I think it was the rubbish MW appointment I had. Felling better today and bubs has been moving about lots :D

I got my MATB1 yesterday at my 25wk appointment - I had already given work my letter to inform of ML date and just put that my MATB1 would follow.

Tickle - sorry your ECV didn't work, but a think it's great they haven't gone for an automatic C-section.

Hugs to Iheartfreebies and the Greent! x

Ihearfreebies - I'm so sorry to hear that it wasn't meant to be this time but I'm sure you will be back on here before you know it. Good luck and sticky baby dust for next time.

I couldn't believe it either, so I phoned up the main number for the Midwives in the Manchester PCT - and was told that anything up to 16 weeks is normal

I'm sure I keep killing this thread. Oh well, off to yoga now. Query for you all, have any of you thought about god parents? Do people still have god parents and what is the usual way of going about it? I have no idea!

Did you at least see a MW after the scan?
I wasn't aware of the differences the first time around because I hadn't discovered the joys of MSE yet  but I have since learnt that the ante natal care here is fab! I made my own app with MW at GPs for 8ish weeks she called the scan place while I was with her so I got to pick an appointment to suit us. The only problems I've encountered are a few old school MWs that didn't like that I refused some tests (something I found most offensive as they were basically making out that I could be riddled:eek: without taking the time to notice I'd had the tests first time around and am in a happily married monogamous relationship - same relationship I was in then!)

right off to the shops I go, should I get a starbucks while I'm there....
