Aimee has 6 god parents... I'm particularly greedy

Actually, it stems from having her baptised when she was a few months old, I chose my Nan, my best friend at the time, my sister and my brother... Fast forward 3 years and we regularly attend a different church that has a 'beliver baptism' ethos... We don't christen or baptise babies, we dedicate them to God and the church and when they are old enough they can choose to be baptised themselves... I had her dedicated about a month after I officially became a member of the church and chose 2 Godparents who I am particularly close to and who attend the same church... This time around it's going to be a bit difficult... I can't bring myself to ask people to be Godparents who I know have no belief... It belittles the process... But at the same time, I know my sister will be expecting to be asked... and hubby's sister has already asked him if she can be... I'm trying not to think about it unless I have to really....

My wonderful hubby just came home... With a mini Liverpool football kit... An iPod Touch (and speakers) and a box of Krispy Kreme Donuts... Did I mention I love that man?!

Get it checked out anyway it COULD be a liver problem I think it is OR it could just be because you're swelling (sorry lol) and that could make you itch too But you should play it safe and check with the GP really...

Personally yes I get itchy feet and alledgedly I'm fine moisturising and baths with moisturing stuff in them seem to help to a degree

It seems that the MW's want to book me in for a Csection but the consultants like the fact that I dont want one. So the consultants are encouraging a natural breech birth but the MW's are promoting Csections.... me thinks the left hand needs to speak to the right hand lol. :rotfl: That may just be the halifax area though.:rolleyes:

How appalling & the nerve of the woman to blame the MW! Is it just a tragic accident, based on normal practice in her native country, 'cos I can't believe someone would be so cavalier with the lives of their child(ren)?

Thanks, & my whole skin is much drier than normal. Before I had my 2-year-old I had very oily skin/hair, but since then my skin's got really dry, so I'm wondering if it's getting drier still (as a result of hormonal changes) & this is making me itchy. Only 'cure' is lashings of baby oil after bath. I will ring dr in the morning, though, & see if blood taken at booking-in showed anything, or if they think I should have it done again. Trouble is, mw clinic is Mondays, & next one is bank hol, unless they just get the nurse to do it.

OMG - while I've been browsing/typing, I've just waded through a WHOLE large bag of Revels! :eek: I'm going to pay later, 'cos anything I eat after 7 pm makes me feel even more bloated, so I'm in for it now!

I've had a very busy day! Feels so good to have done something productive!

For a start, Bob was playing ball today and we got some fab pictures of him during the scan this morning. Got 70 on a CD plus a DVD so will put them up on Facebook and put the link up later on. Can definitely see a difference in the definition in his face in the ten days between scans

Then we went to Babies'R'Us and picked up a cute outfit that OH has liked for ages and a reversible jacket which I picked. They were £14.99 and £12.99 and we're not spending anything like that on other outfits so these are "for best" - if there is such a thing with a 3-6mth old baby!

Then we went to the local baby shop to ask them to try the car seat in my car (expecting Silver Cross and Ford seatbelt problems!). They now charge £5 to try it because so many people were asking them to fit it then going off and ordering online. They knock the £5 off if you buy it from them though. I told them we were having my godmother's travel system which she'd bought from them originally IF the seat fitted, and if it did we would want it from them anyway (supporting local businesses, plus everyone in the family has got their prams from that shop). Thankfully, it fitted just fine - no problems at all! We've ordered it and it'll be here in a few weeks Apparently they now only do the Ventura Plus which goes up to 13kg but for a while there was a Ventura which went up to 9kg and a Ventura Plus. The bigger one has been out about a year.. Sami, I recall you had problems with Chris growing out of his quite quickly so I'm guessing you might have had the smaller one

And finally, we went to the carpet shop and ordered all of our carpets for £750 - £270 cheaper than the other quote. All better quality and got most of the underlay and all the grippers and door-rods thrown in for free!

On the subject of godparents, my sister and I have the same three - dad's younger brother, mum's best friend (known each other since they were 5 - they're 53 now) and the mutual friend who set them up on a blind date (I think she was mum's colleague and dad's nextdoor neighbour). When we were younger and mum and dad were writing their will(s), they actually nominated my dad's older sister and her husband to be our guardians if anything happened to them and our grandparents weren't young/well enough to look after us. They already had three older children whereas my godfather didn't have any so they obviously trusted aunty and uncle to look after us better!

OH and I have been asked to be "godparent figures" to his best mate's son (the one I often talk about) - he's not being christened but they want us to be there for him for guidance; if anything was to happen to them, little one would be looked after by his maternal grandparents. We just dread them expecting us to ask the same of them!

We haven't really talked about getting Bob christened. Both OH and I were christened but neither of us have set foot in a church (expect for weddings!) for years nor have a strong belief in God. All our parents are young enough to look after him if something happened to us, and if not then we'll name OH's sister and my sister in our wills for guardians. Still need to look into the legality of it all - got enough to think about with OH and I not being married!

Hmm.. right, I've rabbited on enough! Going to let OH have the laptop for a while whilst I read magazines with Mum. There's a voucher book with the Prima Baby mag I bought earlier - will report back what's in it later Glad the TT steriliser and Asda baby event aisle info were useful

Finally sitting down!

Long day yesterday in work then today had my haircut and coloured at 4pm then went to ASDA shopping, just done tea so now sittting down for a relax.

That story is ridiculous - in the NHS u have to be so careful about recording absolutely every contact even if you've tried to contact a patient but there was no answer. Patients are always lying about things!
Can u believe that a patient could try and sue a GP if the patient changes address, fails to inform the GP and we send letters to the old address and then they develop an illness because we didn't call them in for screening?!! :mad:

I've noticed my skin is alot drier especially on my hands - no stretchmarks yet though as using lots of Rescue Oil everyday!

Scan tomorrow - excited :j but nervous
