well it doesn't really matter for me coz doesn't need organising before hand but Chris had vit K and I've chosen for bubs to have it too.
I'm at the moment saying I'd like to have natural 3rd stage and just see how it goes, if placenta isn't coming out after say 30mins then I may ask for syno-wotsit then.
I asked MW if there was any effect on healing times etc with not having injection and she said as far as she knew there hadn't been any studies done (she gave me a place to look and see tho, but I find it strange that they suggest you have this injection with no real reason for it except saving the MWs some time??)
THis is why i never trust the medical professionals! :rotfl: I think a lot of what they do is for their convenience rather than what is best for the mum and baby and I tend to do my own research and then decide (and it is usually not what the profs recommend).
On vit K, I've read a fair bit and the risk of haemmorhage is very small, although I appreciate that if it happens then it's terrible. I'm thinking of asking for the drops instead, so Bubba doesn't have to be stuck with an injection immediately, but I'm definitely not having the placenta one unless I cannot get the placenta out myself within an hour. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Aimee had the drops but they give the injection as routine at our hospital... Mainly because they can't actually tell how much of the drops that baby has if they dribble or vomit afterwards...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Oh my god just found the baby tags, how cute! Will need to sort out asap the homebirth stuff just in case but I suppose I've got less than a fortnight til my due date (how did that happen!)
I had both injections with Charlie and plan to have them again. I'm thinking the vit K can only be good for the baby and once bubs is out I want that placenta outta me asap. I understand its been looking after bubs but now its done its job and I want rid!
Just rang tax credits as I had to notify some changes and they confirmed MA is not counted at all and neither is the first £100 of SMP. I informed them I was getting contributory based JSA in nov which had now stopped and he had a pop at me saying it was listed as income based JSA and I'd been misleading them! I'd only got £847 as income from the JSA so its not going to make loads of difference but I was the one that keep calling them, giving them updates and then they tried to give me extra before so it didn't put me in a hardship position only to overpay me!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

You have to give consent though so they can;t make you do anything. That's what annoys me, that they make people think they 'have' to do something when it is the mum's choice. If you want drops, have drops! :j

I can't stand up! I went to make DS1's bed and bent forward and a pain ripped across my lower back. Now I can't stand up. Had to crawl downstairs! It hurts a lot think I've pulled a muscle. And of course, I'm home alone.0

you are being told about 2 different aspects
You will be classed as employed therefore get WTC
but they don't count the money as earnings
do you get it?0
