My OH was thoroughly smug after the initial shock had worn off. I was concerned that I might be infertile given my history of not getting pregnant. No such concerns were necessary - our main concern now is how to avoid it for the few months after the Bellyfrog's born - I was at the end of my period when I got pregnant.
Have you ttc'd with previous partners? or just been a bit of a risk taker? (fee free to ignore if u don't wanna share)

I know its a harsh view and my feelings are much more complex than this but I sometimes think that nature wins over and that's why some couples can't/don't get pregnant - at the end of the day we are animals and survival of the fittest, natural selection etc still influences our bodies
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

His Dad doesn't like me, never has done, I'm not good enough for Steve, what with me being 5 years older and already having 2 children ~ and it's been like this for 7 years! (Actually, the last time I saw his Dad, it was 2007 and that was because we paid £20 each way in a taxi to go for a drink with his Dad because I thought I would make an effort! I wish I hadn't bothered)

Does anyone get what I mean or do I come across as being a cow?

I know exactly what you mean! Funnily enough - we've been on about age on the parent thread tonight!

How awful must i be in OH's mums eyes, i'm 8 1/2 years older also with 2 kids in tow. OH was only 23 when we got together. We 'had it out' a while back when she accidently sent me a text saying how she hates me and i'm not right for OH. She meant to send it to her friend - ha ha!

I was really upset - but was very 'growed up' and sent her a huge email saying how it'd upset me, that I understood why she felt the way she did and if my son came home at 23 with a 31 year old single mother girlfriend - i'd probably kill him! That i'd tried to put him off in the beginning, but he'd made his choice, and that I loved him and would never hurt him.
I'm not sure it was the age/single mother status that bothered her - noone would be good enough for her precious first born!

That seemed to do the trick - or she's been very good at being false-nice since then!

Anyway - baby seems to have helped, its her first grandchild - so she pretty much has to accept me now, like it or not.
Anyway, she's still got OH's two brothers at home so she can concentrate on pampering them now.

Maybe once baby is here he'll be a bit more interested?!?

My DD has just phoned from Tenerife, her OH has proposed today. He has spent the last few days collecting white stones and today when she was walking along the path with him in the dak sand was 'Will You Marry Me' in huge letters, ahhhh!
Too many children, too little time!!!

My ex and I were together for ten years. We weren't doing anything to prevent conception after the first three years. One calculated risk with my now husband and he's barely a step away from examining his boys under a microscope to see what letter's on their capes.
