Shell, the 34wk bloods are full blood count, don't think it's anything else... Probably wouldn't make much difference now? They're supposed to be doing mine tomorrow... Although if it's the same palavar as it was last time, think I'll tell them not to bother... It's not like they even bothered looking at the last lot of results anyway...

I just posted a link to this fantastic article on the parent thread... Probably going to get blasted for it there... But if anyone is interested, it's a look at the way formula manufacturers work and a bit of an eye opener... If you don't want to know then don't click the link ;)

34 weeks? Ahhhh, I think I had them done then when I went for my GTT! The lovely lady there asked me if I had had my bloods done by the midwife and I said No but was due them so she did them for me there and then with the other bloods needed to be taken for the GTT ~ I was only 32 weeks then but I don't think it would matter if I was early getting them done would it??

Thinking about that though, surely when I went to see the midwife last week, she would have had my results through from the above so wouldn't have said I needed to have my bloods done??

She was a dippy cow though ~ I went in to see her. Came out. I filled in a repeat prescription form at the desk and the midwife walked past me and said 'have you come to see me?'. I said 'ermm I've just seen you!':rolleyes:

She also told me when I went in that I was overdue (news to me!) even though I'd told her my name twice. :rotfl:

Yeah stands a chance they did them with your GTT then, I had mine at 28w and they did my 28w bloods at the same time... And I think we have similar midwives... Mine got my name wrong about 4 times 2 weeks ago, even though I corrected her... And today I corrected her again... She apologised... And proceeded to get it wrong another 3 times! It's not like I have a particularly difficult name... It just ends in an A not an E....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

It's so annoying isn't it! I feel like saying 'You can't get something simple right, like a name, but I'm putting mine and my childs safety in your hands you dozy bleedin' bint!'

She's an older lady though, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I've also seen someone else who must only be in her 20's and she was fantastic with me and so on the ball. I hope she's there when I go in to have the baby and I don't have dozy hole :rotfl:

I've just realised, I'll be 38 weeks on Saturday, but midwife hasn't mentioned my birth plan at all.

Apparantly I should have had my bloods taken at 36 weeks too ~ this wasn't done at my last appointment because me being dozy hole couldn't find my notes, but I did tell midwife they weren't lost and I did come home and find them.

If the bloods were that important why did she tell me to go back and see her when I'll be 38+5??
Provided you're 'normal' those blood are just for blood count and just need to be done before you give birth so I'm sure you'll be fine to have them now :D

I don't think my MW ever asked me about my birth plan last time and this time its being discussed because I have asked for a homebirth :D

EDIT - sorry just seen Krystal has answered, My webby is being stoopid and keep refreshing with out me telling it too  I'm all mixed up!

Lol, it's the young one I'm having trouble with... She's so inept... And very patronising with it too...

Bah... My husband is wasting a half days holiday so he can have the afternoon off for no reason... And we have an after school play date so we're not even going to be here... This is why he has no holiday left come christmas!

  • Good afternoon :D

Well its been a productive day so far..I eat a tube of mini eggs for breakfast, opened the mail,And snuggled up on the sofa with my son watching winnie the pooh...Ive yet to get dressed...Perhaps i wont bother at all :rotfl:

All this talk of length of babies ive never understood..My son was never measured as a baby. Not at the birth or after. I asked and was told it was an old practise they didnt use anymore as it wasnt needed.

I didnt need a tape measure to tell me he was huge though....He turned 3 two weeks ago and is...3ft8 already

I'm just gonna peel a Satsoooooma for Chris (yey he can say it now even if it does sound a bit funny!) then I think we'll leave the house - how exciting :p

His dad is 6ft1 or 2 ...I forget :o...And i am 5ft8 so neither of us are short.

Was just looking at the things they gave me at the hospital the other day and the baby measured 10.9 cm at 13 + 3 weeks ...Is that normal?

Actually, measuring the length of a baby is a better indicator that a baby is thriving than weighing them... Aimee was 56cm born...
