Thanks Weezl, how are you and the little one doing?
Going to have a read now - hopefully will find it useful anytime now.......come on buba!!!

hi sparkle, lots of easy, safe quick labour dust for you ;)

we're ok, thanks for asking, Fergie is a splendid chap (that's what his name means!) settling into a nice routine...

DH is finding it much harder though, and is quite tired and stressed. Sometimes he wants to chat and says he misses how we were before, but other times withdraws and becomes indiffferent.

He wants us to follow a Gina Ford routine... I'm a bit stuck about that because I'd like to come up with my own system that's individually tailored to my son. She's a bit to formulaic for my liking. Also I react to even the title of the book, as if that's all we're aiming for, 'the contented little baby' docile, quiet, obedient.....

All very lovely now, but maybe we're breeding a generation of passive types who find it hard to have intimate relationships because they were so carefully trained to self-soothe that they find it hard to believe that distress can also be resolved in the context of a loving relationship! That's not what I want for Fergie in the long term.

Ooops, bit of an off the topic rant there, sorry, bet you wish you hadn't asked!:o

Oh getting lots of twinges and 'branston' hicks ( as oh calls them) that are taking my breath away! Could this be the start of something? Doubt it haha

I was getting these last night too...I timed them and they were coming 20 mins apart for about an hour and a half. Then they died off

I had been doing quite a bit of walking around yesterday though so I think it was because of that...

Hope yours are the start of something more productive Sparkle...get bouncing on your ball if you have one ;);)

    Hello ladies and bumps!

    Yet another rant
well I had my Anaesthetic review yesterday and I did not like the specialist. I felt like I was under attack for being overweight, but am starting to get used to this from MW's and sonographers. But this last appointment she jsut kept telling me that I am more likely to die than someone who isnt obese...I know this I dont need to be told 10 times in 15 minutes!! I was also annoyed when she said that due to my size she wouldnt be able to feel my spine... 5 mins later she had to do a physical check and said with great surprise "I can feel your spine!" Grrrrrrrr I want to wear a sign that says..... "I was losing weight before I got pregnant, and I was on the pill so no this wasnt planned now leave me alone!"

Having discussed with OH am now considering spinal block for Csection, due to reduced healing times etc. It still scares the heebie jeebies out of me so have warned OH that I will be a foul mouthed individual if that happens.... unfortunately it happens when I am scared witless.

but i really want bubs to turn, and everything to go smoothly.

Tine - Physio referral, for the SPD it took 3 weeks... but for carpal tunnel it took 2 days! may be they find wrists easier to deal with lol :rotfl:

    Hiya,

I'm new to this thread but when I read ticklepenny's post I had to join in, hope you don't mind!!

I'm 23 and it's 6 weeks to go until I have my 2nd (got a 16month old daughter & both were planned...I want a 3rd but OH has said no, we'll see about that!!)

Anyway, the reason for my post is that I feel exactly the same way as you do ticklepenny, I know I'm a bit over-weight & it makes me feel embaressed, angry and to be honest like bloody c**p when health professionals keep pointing it out to you! Just because my BMI is slightly higher this time than it was last time, they're forcing me to inject myself with clexane for 6weeks after bambino is born! I had it for 5 days last time & it left bruises all over me!!

    Rant over!!

The whole BMI thing - I remembered I saw this the other day and I quite liked the tone of it - non-judgemental but explaining why women with a higher BMI ought to see an aneastatist before going in even if not planning on a C-sec etc... Might be helpful to those out there that have a higher BMI?

My BMI isn't that high! haha!! It's only a couple of points above what it should be but I'm getting treated like I weigh 45 stone! Maybe I should of explained earlier but I have a family history of DVT hense the moaning MW is doing about being a wee bit over-weight but I'm a perfectly healthy young woman so there's no need to be whinged at all the time!!

You're soo right! In the hosp where I had my daughter there's rather a large midwife who to be quite frank was a complete c** to me the whole night telling me that the straps to that horrible heartbeat tracer thing they strap you up to didn't fit right cause of my belly...I had to tell her that there was room to spare and they were only not fitting right cause her fat fingers were in the way!! I know it's not funny but I was sore at the time and she annoyed me, I would never have dreamed of saying anything like that before but looking back it was a wee bit comical!! :D
