BT do have a limit of 'attenuation' a line can have for different speeds. I have an attenuation of 50 and the 2 meg limit is 40something so I can only get 1 meg.
One thing that possibly could have happened is that this work BT did changed you attenuation.0 -
how would i find out
surely wanadoo would know this  0 -
Are there any other devices plugged into any of your phone master/extensions? A Sky Digital box for example?0

I would make sure wanadoo is aware that the problem only started when your speed was increased to 2meg (although this will probably involve calling them). Ask them if your line is capable of supporting a stable 2meg connection.
Have any of their line tests before come back with anything or do they just keep saying the last one wasn't sucessful?0 -

If you have a Microfilter on the line I would change that for a new one first.

If it is a broadband connection and you are plugged directly into the phone socket, then that copuld be the problem - you must have an adsl filter plugged into every phone socket. I have known people have problems with Sky boxes when plugged intop the phoneline too (whether broadband or dial up). Try removing every other connected device and see if you have a problem. If not , then add them back 1 ata a time to see if any 1 of them is causing the problem.
Also you might want to try plugging into the master socket. It is hidden under the panel of the main socket where it enters your house. Unscrew the 2 screws at the front and you will see another socket inside. If you unplug the the plug that is already in there (and which supplies your internal phone points) you will isolate if the problem is related to your internal phone wiring. To infinity and beyond!0 -
Well a powered USB it may well be then...
Ask Wanadump to send one out... or freecycle for one :rotfl:
