:j:jyay for unexpected cheque!:j:j Pay it if a CC and enjoy the saintly virtous feeling:A
I'm in a quandry. I was planning on overpaying £110 of one of my CC's. But I really need a new jacket/coat type thing for warmer weather. I have unfortunately got too fat for all my other jackets and I'm stuck wearing a winter coat or nothing at all
I'm considering spending £30-ish on a jacket.
Can someone please convice me £80 is still a reasonable overpayment? I really need a jacket and all my other money is budgeted out...
Buy the jacket.
We're DFWs, not bl**dy monks.
Also, if you're still overpaying by £80 then that's ace, so don't feel guilty.

Just need to find a jacket I like... There's one I quite like on La redoute website which is £35 with P&P (I can stretch to £5 out of normal budget!
) and there is 6% cashback on TCB so really it's an MSE decision! :rotfl:

Yep definitely get yourself a coat Laura, it's pretty essential really isn't it. Not like you're buying a party dress, or pair of shoes or something. And you are still overpaying!

£571 from normal loan repayments today, and an extra £10 from a scratchcard which I paid off the Egg loan

Laura - def get the coat, like others have said you are still over paying, it's not like you're blowing it all on something fancy. And i bet you make the coat last.
I was lucky enough to win £93 on lotto on weds, then used £3 to buy lotto srcatchcard on line (not DFW) and won another £10. :j So with that £100 i am going to put £50 in my wedding fund and £50 to overpay CC.
Have been working out the figures, and am now hoping the original April 2010, will be nearer December 2009. :j
Well done everyone with the continued debt busting.

Laura, buy the coat! i would be more than happy to think i bought something i really needed AND made an overpayment, just think..you will be overpaying more than you will be spending.
I AM going to put the £50 towards my card as soon as i can get to the bank, i would have spent the same amount anyway and i REALLY didnt know the cheque was coming. If it puts me OD at least the card will be gone, i just pay a little less as the first payment on the next one right?£10 a day challenge for nov £0/£300

Morning all!
I have added cady and tjretro to the list on the front page, so you're now official members of the Debt Free Birthday Club
How exciting will it be if the debt is cleared by the time your baby comes cady? Our first DFBC baby
My debt is creaking slowly down, I have made some payments into my savings account for eventual overpayment of the loan. It will stand at £99.98 once the payment arrives. If I had worked out the balance first I would have sent another 2p! :rotfl: I also have £370 in Can't Access It savings, so the fund is coming along nicely.
Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend
