I added £32 to my "get rid of the loan" pot today......another step closer to being 40 (although I feel about 90 today!)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hello FF and you other lovely subscribers for what I think is a great debt busting thread !! Great to see some familiar names and posters and hello to everone else....
Sat down tonight and made some long term busting plans- I am a paid up member of the PAD thread since my LBM in January 2009 - a great thread and hugely supportive but this one is also going to help me along with the debt free goal.
Right, had a cheeky Strongbow for courage and finally ready to post / confess so here goes :
Debt at worst c.£34,000 (Jan 2008)
Debt at LBM £28,605 (Jan 2009)
Debt at 01/05/2009 AIMING TO CLEAR £23,650
I would like to target 28/07/2011 for this which will be my
32nd birthday
So my all new busting plan is :
£3,000 Capital One by end of September 2009 (challenging but determined!)
£6,950 HSBC evil credit card by 31st birthday on 28th July 2010
Save enough to offset and pay current £13,700 HSBC loan in the one year between 28th July 2010 and 28th July 2011 (will be at £9,200 ish in July 2010 and otherwise due to finish, if I just did minimums, Dec 2012 - can't overpay unless settling in full early)
________________
So by my reckoning a post here (if I stay to target) and some planning has just shaved bout 17 months off my DFD.
So if you'll have me I'll pop in from time to time and post some updates. I've been really pleased with the total going down since I joined PAD, but like I say, a long term aim is great too. I also plan to change jobs this year so you can also listen to my progress with that if you don't all get bored !
Thanks guys !
