this is becuase ordinary decent people have in many ways been unplesaantly affected by immigration and see that the three main parties will do little about it.

I have always said that the three main parties will get no-where if they only attack and criticise the BNP - they need to understand WHY people vote for them - not just call their supporter s names.
But i think you will agree that some of the "unpleasantness" is a knee jerk reaction to things that are not caused by mass immigration, simply an excuse for some peoples shortcomings, while others do have a genuine grievance.

I dont dispute that, but to allege that he was killed by a police officer is jumping the gun somewhat, official enquiry will establish the facts, and who knows what will be discovered? congenital heart disease? drug abuse? let the inquiry do its work before jumping on the anti-police bandwagon.

I bet nothing at all will happen as a result of that enquiry.

I'm not anti-police by any means, but seeing as nobody at all was prosecuted when they shot an innocent man in London, I would be very surprised indeed if any action is taken over a push and a bit of truncheon.

Considering the amount of coverage given to the shooting of an "innocent" man, i would assume that there was no possibility of a cover-up, and that any decision not to prosecute was based on the facts of the incident.

You don't need to put the "" around innocent - he WAS innocent. He was shot due to the incompetence of the police team, that much is PROVEN FACT. And yet NO-ONE was prosecuted.

Anyway, we're digressing a bit, I'll say no more.

Agreed, and the enquiry will cost us £££££s.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

    Spot on!

As a well qualified (and experienced) civil/structural engineer, I am still receiving job offers on a regular basis.

    Jonbvn C.Eng, M.Eng, M.I.Struct.E, M.I.C.E

Am current working toward my IET CEng status (System Engineer here :P). Getting chartered is definately the way to be headhunted and short listed imo :P.

I used the " because i do not have the full details regarding his "alleged" drug abuse, or his "alleged" status as an illegal alien, so "innocent" of terrorism he may well have beem, but he was not "innocent" of other alleged offences.

But as you say, we are digressing, so no more from me either.

I was looking for the 'do a better job' option. Pretty much a base element of capitalism is free competition.

I do think all workers should receive (and pay for) similar benefits and rights whichever country they are from, not doing that much promotes their ability to undercut british workers

    Utter tosh!
The jury were instructed by the coroner that he had ruled out unlawful killing as a possible verdict, just one part of the whitewash.
Most reasonable people would believe he was unlawfully killed.
The guy was innocent as pointed out before.

Anyway, loads of jobs for everyone when the budget arrives, back to 2007 ASAP :D

And heres the rub... my old friend was more knowledagble ,capable than me but dropped out of my course.... in year 1 to switch to an investment banking degree...

He finished same year as me (Bachelor vs 4 year meng etc) and got 35k starting salary and some pretty nice bonuses. What he did he said was alot easier than robotic engineering (degree we studied) and he was rolling in the big bucks. He was on about 43k be fore the credit crundch +bonuses. I started on just above 22k as an eng graduate....
    i
Money drove his change of career, and the engineering communia lost a potentially good engineer due to significantly lesser pay.

However... he is now out of work and seeking to retrain as a teacher because of recession/credit crunch. So am not jealous i didnt do what he did, luckily for me because engineers are in demand its easier to jump jobs even in recession for me.
