    Hi Swinstie

Hope you're feeling better today. I hate being ill at the weekend - I feel as though I've been cheated! Don't worry about work - your health is more important and I'm sure your colleagues don't want your germs! Could do with some time away from shops myself as I seem to be getting out of hand spending wise at the moment. One day I'm really strict with myself and the next it's a free for all!

    Hi all,

Well feeling a bit better today, been lurking around all day either on here or in front of the tv, didn't go to work today as you can guess. The decision was made as I went to bed at 10pm last night and was still awake coughing and spluttering at 1am. Of course when I phoned in I was asked if it was swine flu (we have to advise for internal purposes), I mean how would I know. I don't feel terrible, but I think it's better not to pass whatever I have onto anyone, I hate when people don't stay off just so they look good for coming to work.

So finally decided about half an hour ago to jump in the shower and I can honestly say I feel so much better now, I'm now in my Florence Nightingale nightie with my furry boots and housecoat on and feel really snuggly. Got a fright when I woke this morning, my hair was pasted to the side of my head and I had a weird mohican type thing going on at the front, reminded me of Jedward :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Feels quite lonesome being 'quarantined', my Mum phoned earlier to see how I was and was telling me to take this and that (of which I have none), but I didn't want her to bring me anything cos I'd rather she didn't catch it. I've got plenty to see me through, think I might even have some Vitamin C to help me along. Guess it'll be plenty of water and eat a little soup or something. Hope everyone else is happy and healthy xx

Well have managed to get by butt in gear and do something constructive. I have put clean sheets on the bed and made a start tidying the bedroom. I have also de-cluttered my V+ box by watching about six episodes of Big Love, it only started in June! Had some soup and about 3 bowls of Cheerios, I think I am addicted to them. I had a bowl for breakfast this morning (with milk) but I've been munching them dry all day. Nothing like the cold to make you not eat properly eh. Think will stick a potato in the oven as need something hot, where's George Clooney when you need him!

Anyhoo, am rambling now, it's not delerium honestly, just the hunger.

  • Glad you're feeling a bit better - bet you're still coughing though! I know what you mean about a nice hot shower making you feel better - even OH commented last night that I was coughing less after I'd showered. Bet the clean bedding helped with a good nights sleep too - I'm going to do mine in a minute.

    Evening all,

Not very much to report today, feeling a bit tired so think be off to bed shortly. All the coughing (yes, still coughing) is taking it out of me. OH has just left, he came down tonight instead of tomorrow as he's on standby. He made Spaghetti Carbonara, it's was probably very tasty but my taste buds are still on holiday. Watched some episodes of 24, series 5, I could sit all night watching it but don't want to get too ahead as OH has never seen it before.

Well EH, the clean sheets should've done the trick for a good nights sleep, but alas I was still awake at 4am this morning, I spent the whole night scratching like mad. I had an all-over itch, arms, legs, flipping everywhere, the only thing I can think of is the sheets! Probably the washing powder or something. I even resorted to getting the sleeping bag out, but I was still scratching. Better not be like that tonight.

Anyhoo, hope everyone else is having an itch free night, ok I don't want to go to bed now, I'm itchy just thinking about it! And no, it's not bed mites, I HOPE!
