Evening all,
Have updated my signature and although my total is still there, I have split it into credit card debt and loan debt, just doesn't seem as daunting now.
Yes, will have to get some challenges set SA, will definitely be doing the clothes one, although going for £120 for the year which is only £10 per month. I am also allowing OH to buy me something to wear for birthday and/or Christmas next year
OH was down tonight, made my all-time favourite dinner of mashed potato, cabbage, bacon and beans, I love it! It was very tasty. He paid me his Pink ticket so £51 into the pot to pay CC and also left me £10 to put towards Christmas Eve dinner, which was nice. Thinking will make soup of some description and get a recipe from my friend's OH for a stew he makes with Guinness. He does it in the slow cooker and have tasted it, it's fab.
So, EssexH, will have to get tips from you about Up North, as think this might be where we are heading next year for hols! Did you hear Globespan have went bust, we usually go with them, so up the creek without a paddle now. The poor people who are being paid off or not getting their hols just before Christmas.
Imagine me eh, being Scottish and only ever being as far as Mallaig, shocking!
Well gonna have my final cuppa and last piece of Stollen cake (ssh, I have eaten a full cake myself since Monday)!! It is delish though! So nite all, sweet dreams - I hope I do and no scratching in sight, ha!0 -
Ok, so looks like my £120 clothes challenge for next year is already reduced to £102! I started my 2010 budget from today as it is payday and I prefer to work pay-day to pay-day, my sister asked me last week if I wanted a pair of jeans she had ordered from DP's (too big - go figures they'd fit me, eh)! I paid her the £20 due (they were £25 with a 20% discount)!
Anyway, decided when I went to wear them that they were too big for me too, but she had already sent the parcel back so I thought I'd check I could return them to a store, I could BUT had no receipt. Took them back today, she said if I could get her size in the same jeans, she would keep them (I'd get my money back and we'd all be happy). They didn't have the jeans and they wouldn't refund, only an exchange as I had no receipt. Spent all lunch-break wandering around trying to find something I could buy but couldn't see anything. Ended up getting another pair of jeans, which if they don't fit her or me will have to be returned for yet another exchange, argh!
The woman rang the refunded ones up at £25 and what did Swinstie say, 'I think there was a 20% discount' !!!!!!! Why didn't I keep my big mouth shut?! I am too honest for my own good, between that and on here confessing to buying clothes (again)! Oh and the new jeans were £28, which is why I have reduced my annual budget to £102, not counting the £20 as paid this from last months budget.
I NEED HELP!!! And I want to go home as there is hardly anyone in work!0 -

I'm in Skye at the moment visiting my folks so if you need any Up North suggestions then just ask me or EH!0 -
Thanks F_F,
How's the weather in Skye? It is freezing here right now. I've always wanted to go to the Islands, can't remember where it was but read an article about island hopping and it had gorgeous ankle deep blue water - probably flipping freezing but looked lovely. Need to try and do it on the cheap cos we had a good price for Portugal (with Globespan - luckily hadn't booked it), so don't really want to go over-budget. I will be picking your brains after Christmas.
Well the jeans fitted and looked rather nice actually so that will be my last purchase and nothing else until January pay-day. As only budgetted £10 per month, if it's more than this, I will have to save until I have enough, simples....
Came home tonight to a Christmas card in the post from OH. He already gave me a lovely one on Wednesday, but this was a 'To my sexy girlfriend' one, made me smile, although I think the postie put it through the wrong letterbox :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
