Hi Swinstie!
Keep up the detox I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. Just think how saintly you'll feel at the end of it. There's no way I could do one. I tried switching to decaf coffee a few years ago and got headache. Now I only have 2-3 cups a day and just drink water the rest of the time (apart from the wine at the weekend of course). Fortunately I can only drink weak coffee so hopefully not too much caffeine damage there. However, I have read that having a coffee before a workout actually helps you work harder - any excuse!
Have a good rest tonight!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi Robsmum/Sun Addict,
Will subscribe to your diary to Robsmum, didn't know you had one but have seen you on the Blondie one - sorry about the dog, it's heartbreaking when that happens!
Well I am on day 4 and feel much chirpier today. Went home at 4pm yesterday and slept from 4.30pm til 7pm, had some dinner, no tea not even a herbal one as I couldn't face it, then bed for 10pm. Only thing is got cramp today, apart from that I feel great. One thing I noticed is my skin is looking great, must be all the water I'm drinking, yeah!
Joined the 100 day challenge, giving up buying clothes, toiletries and magazines but gonna have to break it already, running out of toothpaste and shaving foam and really don't want to be a hairy, bad breath chick!
Gonna have to buy some then start again I'm afraid.
I've actually got a Low GI book which I used to use, might give that a go again, cos I don't think I eat too much fat anyway, maybe I'm naturally fat on the inside, ha!
Anyway will go check out other diaries for now x0 -
Hey Swinstie - have fought the rugrats off the computer and am catching up with how you are doing.
:T:T:TIs all I can say to the way you are sticking to the detox - glad you are starting to feel better as well.
And glad you got your laptop. I totally understand Mac -wise. They are hideously expensive - but beautiful (and to let you into a little secret - I only have any kind of Mac because I brought it secondhand from a friend) Sadly the nearest I actually get to doing anything on it is looking at it and sighing - and then playing Peggle - a horribly addictive game. The computer I actually use is the Dell one that we have had forever!! I am a technophobe - I had an ipod for WELL over a year before I even took it out of the case!! Heh heh
Anyway - enough blethering - have a good day dude !Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Glad you are starting to feel better
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Thanks girlies,
Having some chicken soup (only 60p from the canteen) to see if that helps with the cramp. Thank crunchie it's Friday, how can a 4 day week feel like two weeks, honestly. Just got to get over the weekend, although OH says he won't drink much tea this weekend and we'll probably sit in watching episodes of 24 (1st series), he's never seen it before and is addicted, so won't have to resist the pub. Got a bottle of wine chilling to celebrate finishing detox, I mean I'm not giving up wine forever!
I'm a technophobe too Rupe, I don't even own an Ipod, I even still have a VCR (ssh)!0 -
Yeah work will be finished in half an hour, so just a quick update before I log off for the weekend - so can't wait to get my laptop!
Managed to survive today on a bowl of cereal, a few bottles of water, chicken and rice soup and two ryvitas and cream cheese. Doesn't sound like a lot but will be having a hearty dinner tonight, once I figure out what to make, cos always ask OH what he fancies and he always leaves it to me, men! Only spent 60p and still got a fiver left.
Looks like a trip to the supermarket/bank, going to lift £50 to do me til payday next Friday, £20 that I used for petrol back in my Sealed Pot (obviously not sealed very well), so that's £35 in all, about £5 a day, think I should manage if I shop sensibly and stay in all weekend.
Have a nice weekend, anyone who is listening - bye xx0 -
Handbags and Gladrags? Well, I found their site recently. I needed a smart little clutch bag for an occasion we're invited to at the end of May. DH thinks I need my head looked at. I need to look smart - it's a matter of confidence. I don't want any of them sneering at me or looking down at me! He can't understand that, and I can't explain it.
Here's what I bought: http://www.handbagsandgladrags.co.uk/acatalog/info_tbmollcrm.htmlÆr ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Very nice margaretclare, but please don't show me bags, that is my weakness! I have way too many, but as you say you need to have one for every occasion! I'm having a car boot sale soon, and wasn't very successful selling bags the last time, I kept hiding them back in the boot!0

Hi Swinstie
Was going to reply to you earlier but computer at work crashed. Good luck with the detox over the weekend. I will be weighing myself tomorrow so hopefully no nasty surprises again this week! I haven't nibbled for 4 days now so hopefully this has helped.
I have way too many handbags as well - handbags, shoes and lipsticks are my main weaknesses. However, have not bought a handbag yet this year although have been very close. I was actually looking at a handbag in TK Maxx this lunchtime but walked away. I had to tell myself "step away from the bag"!
I'm off to update my diary now. Have a great weekend!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Am immensley impressed with your detox. When I detox the headaches are enough to get me reaching for the nearest sugar fix. My body was not designed to go without e numbers I am afraid.
Saying that though, not being in a job, I am drinking less coffee but loads of squash.
