  • Hi Swinstie,

Just having a read of your lovely diary, glad your detox is going well - are you feeling any difference?

By the way, - I also have a weakness for Apple - I have a lovely 3 year old iBook G4 that still works perfectly - but I gave in and got an iPhone in January - it's so fab, like a mini little laptop - not a good dfw decision though....

Good luck with your debt free quest :)

    Hi Swinstie

Glad to see your surviving your detox. I was good yesterday and nothing that shouldn't have done passed my lips and I did all my exercise. Just got to do it all again today and the next day ......

I don't like the sound of doing the crab either - I think if I did it at my age I would never get back out of it again :rotfl:I used to go to classes when I was a gym member and I do miss the camaraderie but then again I don't miss having to go out in all weathers and not being able to move in the classes when they get too packed at the beginning of January (or paying!).

Glad you've got yourself a laptop. Mine is an Acer - not had it long but it's great so far - does what it's supposed to. I don't do anything fancy on it anyway. I've usually had enough of computers by the time I get home from work and been on one all day. We've also got the Virgin TV/broadband/landline package and it's saved us money since we switched from separate packages with Sky and BT. Can't fault Virgin either.

I will update my diary when I come back from lunch. Today's shopping expedition is to Aldi which is a good 20 minutes walk each way so more exercise and hopefully not too much spending!

    Have a good day!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

My laptop is an acer too - I love it!

Swinstie just wanting to wish you luck. Stop beating yourself up about your level of debt. Out of interest what is your house currently worth and how does that compare with your debt level?

  • Hmmmmmmmmmmm doing The Crab and a detox at the same time = digestion can be working overtime..... get my drift????? Not sure I'd be too keen neither.

Naughty naughty on the lap top front. Yet secretly greeneyed as would love one. However, I'd be on it noon and night in front of the boggle box and Mr GG would go potty. One day maybe.

    Hi SH & GG,

Been wanting a laptop for ages and I got some unexpected money last year which I used to pay off some debt and banked some, hadn't really bought myself anything so this is my wee treat!

To be honest I don't have a clue what my house is worth, it's a one bedroom quarter villa and I know ones that have went for about £65K - £75K depending on the area. I've had everything done to mines (apart from the housework), so would hopefully get nearer the higher end of the market (whatever that may be now). I bought it as a repo (sadly for that person but great for me) and my mortgage was only for £37K including home improvements, cos it needed loads of work done.

I've thought about getting my mortgage increased but if I can get my debt reduced without going down that route it means more of a profit when I decide to sell. Maybe I should find out how much it is worth, would the bank do that or an estate agent? You can tell this is my first house, haven't a clue, lol

I think if you go to a couple of estate agents and make out as though you are going to sell they do the valuations for free.

It's usually best to get a couple of valuations just to get an average of what it's worth!

Just a wee update before I go for lunch - have ordered an omelette, don't know how healthy that is but I don't care, cos I am starving.

Had home-made lasagna, small baked potato, veg and garlic bread last night and one cup of nettle tea. I have had a horrendous headache since last night, and one point today I nearly bit someone's head off (not cos I was hungry) but because I think I have caffiene withdrawal. I drank a lot of tea before, think maybe should have cut down gradually tho. Feeling a wee bit better, but at least have only spent £2.50 in the last three days, yeah!

Cancelled gym tonight, cos know won't feel up to it once I get home, planning on going straight to bed. Will catch up later!

    Hiya,

Well done on the detox...wish I had the willpower.

I'm sure once you're past the first few days you'll start to feel better.

Off to eat the yummy tuna pasta bake I've just made..I'm starving.

Well managed to have a nice cheese & onion omelette for lunch and this was also my Scone day (canteen have been instructed not to sell me anything other than a scone on a Thursday), would've enjoyed it more with a lovely cuppa though.

Feeling a bit better but head/neck still a bit achy, will try and stick with water. The things we do to ourselves!

Found it!! We both must do our diaries daily! Sounds like lines at school. Good luck with detox, cutting out coffee completely gave me awful headache to. Why do we do this to ourselves? Didn't find low fat diet helped with cholesteral, instead I went for healthy diet based on low GI and that really did help, mines now back to normal. I'll subscribe to your diary so we can support each other.
