Peeps, don't let it get you down. Its only money. *says she! LOL*
As long as you are paying off your debts and if its only the min payments, you are getting there. A drip of a tap soon fills the sink!!!

    Evening everyone,

Been going through my finances yet again trying to find ways to save more money - out of my £340 'extra' spend money (and 14 days since last payday, I have spent £187.20! I now have 20 days til next payday and the grand total of £152.80, so something is not quite right there.

In saying that, this is a 5 week month so maybe a normal month might not be so bad. :D. Looking at my spreadsheet, nothing is jumping out that I've spent too much on, so gonna put it down to being a long month.

Working at 2nd job tomorrow night straight from work so that will be extra money, made £40 so far doing two shifts and still to be paid for last week, could be an average of an extra £80+ a month which is better than nothing.

The best news of ever, moving office next week and have managed to wangle overtime this weekend also, don't have a clue how much I will get as not done overtime for ages. Only thing is, gonna be a busy weekend and thought wouldn't see OH, but we have worked something out. He is going to come down tomorrow night and if nice, cut the grass and do a general tidy, bless him. He's even taking me for lunch on Saturday as he won some money :j.

Going to try not updating til Sunday now (aye right, will be back on later), so I can try and get the house is some sort of order - I also need to find the spider which is currently running amok in my bedroom .

Have a nice night all xx

......did you find the spider?? I hate them!

Hope you manage to make the money stretch through the month. I had a wake up call with utility bills yesterday and then went through to see how much money I had spend on food (including eating out) and it was over £200 just from my account , OH hasn't checked his....there are only two of us. Serious adjustments to be made me thinks!!!

Hope you have a lovely weekend x

Afternoon SH & Karen (and any lurkers)

Well not made much progress since last post! Worked on Friday night from 5pm til 10pm, but was actually out working since 8.30am, so about 14 hours of slave labour . Got paid again for 2nd job so now made around £77 and still to be paid for Friday and an hour extra that I was missed from last weeks - I hate being diddled out of money when I worked for it!

Had to text OH to tell him to go ahead and eat so he got a Chinese which he was duly scoffing when I came home - I was too tired to eat which he must have known cos he didn't even get me anything - the cheek of it :D.

Went out last night for dinner - his treat and I only spent £12.50 of my £17.50 budget (he gave me a fiver back), feel quite cheap saying I'm on a budget, but well I am, what can I do.

Was working yesterday and also today, here right now but having a quick bite to eat and a rest cos OH decided on Friday night and last night that he would snore, causing me to head for the couch. He did try and get me back upstairs but I was in such a huff I told him to get lost (but get me a blanket) - he went back upstairs and promptly fell asleep - leading to more huffiness from me. We have made up, and he even made me lunch for today, which was very tasty, so he is back in my good books. A guy asked us last night why we weren't married yet (he was speechless as not good at giving an 'appropriate' answer) but I could've answered - COS HE BL**DY SNORES!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Anyhow guess better get on, making progress with the move but the house is still a mess - needs to be done by Wednesday as getting V+ put in (long story for another day) - found A spider in the bathroom, not sure it's the same one which was running amok in my bedroom but hope so :D.

Have a good day everyone xx

    Hi Swinstie

I can thoroughly sympathise with you on the snoring front as my OH snores too. Not every night thankfully but often when he's had a drink. Upset him last night as he was trying not to listen to results of England match so he could watch it later on (I didn't know this by the way) and I told him the score. I doubly upset him as I called them Britain by mistake. Double whammy! I'm not into football as you can see!

Have a good rest of weekend. I'm not going to update my diary until tomorrow.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That is funny! Men and their football! I was in a pub a year or so ago watching a Scotland game and this guy behind me was shouting and swearing and I turned round and said (in my best joking manner) 'I'm a lady and not used to that kind of language' - well if looks could kill, I thought he was going to punch me! I now do not bother with footie (never have), leave it to the men!

Well got some good news re my holiday, although thought at first it was a disaster! Outward bound flights cancelled but flying out the day before and for our trouble getting an extra night in the hotel, all expenses paid :j.

I had already booked the day off anyway but OH hadn't, hope he will think it's good news too - an extra day holiday for nothing!

Do you ever find that when you make extra money, it is gone before you see any of it? I worked overtime this weekend but before I even had worked my video (yes I am still in the dark ages) broke down and I panicked and ended up booking to get Virgin+ put in. My first bill is going to be £124, on top of having one this month for £70!

I currently have Sky tv, Virgin phone and broadband and was paying almost £50 a month, there will be no changes but I cannot for the life of me work out how people get it so much cheaper! Sky wouldn't give me broadband cos I didn't have a BT line, so Virgin worked out easier and cheaper. In case anyone is wondering, I was with Virgin for tv too until they took Sky1 off so I got Sky put in (watch all my shows on this channel), so it's really been stupid paying two separate providers thought getting one would be cheaper but not as much as I would've liked.

Anyhow just getting my head around all these extra bills coming my way. My 'extra' spend money is still going ok at least for now, ha!

Have a nice night everyone, just gonna update spreadsheet and toiletry list, used up more stuff :j xx

Swinstie - top tip for you if you think of making a big change - post it on here - get some feedback and then decide if you still want to do it! Mega ouch on the virgin bill!!! Hope that doesn't sound too patronising! From your other posts tho it is the impulse buy that gets you into trouble... so you need to find a way of cutting it off at the pass!

Thanks SH, honestly you'd think someone had died last Thursday when my video recorder broke down on me - I was just about to tape Bones & Grey's Anatomy and I was devasted! Have missed my progs all weekend cos been working and am sitting up now to watch CSI New York that I missed last night and can't tape!

I have a feeling this will be my only other big spend this side of the hols! Got good news on the hols to make up for it, had a message to call the travel agents back today about a change to our flights. I called and she said that our flights was cancelled , to which I replied eh, what do you mean? Flight not going out that day (for whatever reason) but we could fly out the day before, of course have got hotels booked! She said she could re-schedule and we could also fly home a day early OR we could fly out the day before and stay an extra night - we now have an extra days holiday for FREE :j. Just gives me an extra day to get OH up the CN Tower :D. We won't need much more money, just means we can chill out for the first night, really looking forward to it now, and had already booked that day off work anyway!

So been quite a productive weekend, even got our Oasis tickets in yesterday, just awaiting the AC/DC ones (OH and friend going) and sold the other two to someone at work - didn't even try to get more money, how nice am I?!

Phew this is a long post, but not much time to update this week, gonna be busy! Spent about £65 today, £25 on food (had to buy Break-Aways) cos ate loads out someone in work's biscuit tin cos the vending machine stole my money :D, £10 on top up and £30 on petrol, hopefully this will do me til payday. Also updated toiletry list, now down to 226 items (from 238).
