    Evening all,

Just a quickie cos BGT coming back on - not sure who will win, I quite like a few acts!

Well party was a sucess, lovely meal as well and I got my money's worth as ended up with two cheesecakes - I had starved all day so was starving by time the meal was served. Only put £10 in the kitty as had own voddy, but to be fair think the going rate was £20 if drinking and £10 if not, I was drinking but still managed the £10 :j.

No hangover today and was glad not too drunk on the bus home, the girl beside me was a tad ill, which nearly made me ill but I managed to maintain my dignity! Stayed at mum's and me and two sis's decided to open helium balloons, what a laugh!

Anyway supposed to be nice again tomorrow, it was lovely today, so we are having a barbie! OH is coming down, he is standby today and have really missed seeing him, especially since weather been so good, but will see him tomorrow. Making a big Greek salad as my contribution, couldn't believe how expensive the ingredients were though, spent £8 and the only extra stuff were milk and tonic water (my new tipple is vodka and tonic, very refreshing), but sis will probably have spent more than that, so all ok.

Well got to go, BGT back on then it's CSI New York then bed. Working tomorrow from 11am til 5pm, please rain between these times :D

    Morning all,

Worked most of yesterday but managed to see some of the sun, however I have a prickly heat rash on my neck (very itchy) and my hayfever has flared up even after starting my anti-histamines in April!

Anyway booked Body Pump for Saturday morning but have cancelled classed on Tues & Thurs, as house needs some TLC. Came downstairs this morning and had two thoughts 1) that was some party last night and 2) was I burgled during the night?!

It is that bad! Found milk I had forgotten to put in the fridge last night, it managed to walk itself to the bin, also whilst making my salad yesterday morning, a HUGE spider tried to eat my lettuce! The minute I see a spider, it kicks me into action, so tonight I will start the house, problem is where to start, the only room that is kind of ok is the bathroom but even that needs some attention.

Kitchen is first as obviously need this to be clean in order to mess it up again when cooking dinner! Why do I have so much clutter!? Asked sis yesterday about the car boot sale, think we will try and do it in a couple of weeks, it's either that or everything is going to the dump.

Well hope everyone is having a good day, hate being stuck indoors when it's nice, but at least it's nearly lunch-time, ha!

Ok, need to get myself back on track, ended up going for lunch with my friend cos it was such a nice day BUT ended up spending £4.70 .

This did include a panini, can of coke, crisps and an ice-lolly, but still couldn't believe how much it came to. Now leaves me with the grand total of £6.85 for 15 days at work and til next payday, so 45p/day :rotfl:.

I am determined to still have money left in my jars, only 11 days into this challenge with 23 to go and it's looking not too bad for somethings. Have managed to have 2 nights out and only spent £30 but got 3 weekends and a concert to go to so don't know if will manage on the £45 I have left.

On the plus side, been paid about £40 for the two catering shifts I've done, did another one yesterday which not been paid for yet and working on Friday after work. Once this money reaches £100 I am going to pay into my savings account to put towards paying off my loan.

Will post back later, with my (if any) progress on the housework. x

    Hey Swinstie

Good luck with the challenges and the housework. I know what you mean about the latter - I did nothing last weekend and need to make sure that the flat gets a good clean this week!

I like the idea of the jars - will think about it some more ...

    Hi All,

Still trying to tweak the budget this month, cos after deducting all my 'jar' money and essential bills I am going to be left with £4.40 in the bank by pay-day (hopefully with some 'jar' money left also)! That is if my expenses goes in soon, or I will be -£35.60! I need to send a cheque for £10 to a friend who paid a deposit for sis's night out but couldn't go, managed to get her money back, but will need to put money in the bank as DO NOT want to go into my OD, haven't been in that scary place for over a year!.

Gave myself a mini-challenge starting April 14th of listing all my non-essential spending (doing it for exactly a year to see how much I spend) and so far (this being Day 49), I have spent £675.57, an avg. of £13.78/day or £16.47/day taking into account I have had 8 NSD's. This is bad as means on avg. could be spending £500 a month on non-essentials, argh!

Now from payday (22 May) and 11 days I have spent £11.14 or £13.62 (2 NSD's) which is a bit better at £420ish, hence the 'jar' challenge. I am hoping to spend no more than £10 a day on non-essentials but have given myself £350 for the month at the most - oh come wake up it's not that boring is it :rotfl:.

I hope this challenge works as currently my other bills come in at approx. £1075/month + non-essentials at £350 = £1425 which is still about £50 short . I get about £40 a month expenses, which will increase when I move office, but I will spend more in petrol so not really gaining more money. Part-time job so far has brought in £40 so if I can get a shift a week, I could manage it. Sorry for rambling but I need to tweak the figures cos haven't costed in house insurance which is due next month :D

    Evening peeps,

Well so far I have came home, put some music on and cleaned my butt off - well the kitchen, but you know what I mean! It is so clean and tidy I don't want to cook my dinner but I am starving so needs must. Managed another dinner from the freezer, chicken chasseur, chips and veggies.

The more observant of you will notice that my sig has increased dramatically, this is because just paid holiday today, OH already gave me his money which I duly spent, so had to pay his too, on credit card but this doesn't need to be paid until next month. Already got the money in savings (which I have already deducted) and this will leave spending money and some 'extra'! Wondering if can get away with £300 - £350 per week (going for 3 weeks)! Had budgetted for £1200 (£400 per week) but would like to cut this down. Neither myself or OH are big eaters i.e. won't bother with breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening snack and everything in-between and I'm not bothering about buying tonnes of stuff - just want to have a lovely holiday and relax.

Anyhow nothing on tv til 9pm, so gonna put dinner on and tackle livingroom, honestly, looks like I've been burgled.

    Have a good evening x

ETA: We will eat, honestly - just not loads of meals!

I know that feeling! Hope you manage to get back on track! I also know what you mean about the luxury spends - we spend too much there too!
