Hi Swinstie
Just saying hello too! You're doing much better than you think! It's only natural to have days when you spend too much. My danger time is approaching as I always have the urge to buy loads of stuff just before I go on holiday (I'm the same at Christmas). There are loads of sales on and it's so so tempting. I don't really need anything and I can't really afford to buy anything much so I must resist the urge. But it's so hard! If you really like the dress don't take it back - it's not as if you've spent a fortune on it - bargain really! You deserve a treat for being so good for so long.
Have a great weekend and don't go in any more shops!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi SH & Sun Addict,
Not felt up to posting the last few days, been a bit poorly with hayfever - shouldn't really complain, it could be worse and I could have pig mumps!
Had a terrible weekend, well it started off fine with me and OH managing to get a bit of the garden done, bought chips for under my kitchen window, it looks lovely (used to be constantly weedy) and took about 6 bags of chips, so £30 for that. Definately going to take the dress back now cos that would be £35 towards finishing the garden. Only taken me 6 years to get it in order.
Weekend went downhill with the hayfever being a major factor, coupled with me being a grumpy moo and taking it out on poor OH i.e. I spilled water which ran into a cupboard - he got the blame! I did apologise to him, and he replied with 'I can't stop loving you'! How nice is that! Will make it up to him by cooking him a lovely dinner tomorrow night!
Well hope everyone else is well and had a better weekend, wouldn't be hard! Feeling better now anyway, good news for everyone x0 -
I am glad your garden is coming together! My weekend wasn't great - my car has been written off as uneconomical to repair - after hitting a kerb! Can't get a new car until I have a job really.... not and have any chance of staying on track!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi SH,
Sorry to hear the car ended up being written off! Will you have insurance covering it or anything, maybe you will get something back for it!
Well my night is looking up, decided to have a game of bingo on the daily scratchcard site so I looked like a real player - I won £10, yeah! So my balance is at £15! Think will leave it til it reaches £20 then withdraw, I take it I can withdraw anytime as it's my winnings?!
Gonna have some dinner now and relax for the night, after giving the house a quick tidy and getting my clothes sorted for tomorrow that is, have a nice night everyone x0 -
Well finally got a chance to go through my finances, not looking too hot but then again a couple of days til payday! Thought I would be under £10K by the time I had made payments from June salary but forgot about my house insurance which I paid by Visa - debt currently at £11,984 - it keeps going up, help!
Booked insurance for OH for hols, so he has still to pay that, took a dress back to Oasis but have already deducted this. Got a check from cancelled insurance to put into bank but I can see this month being really bad again.
Had to cancel work on Sunday (2nd job) as was poorly with hayfever, wonder if I will be asked to work again?! Couldn't be helped, I'd rather not have someone sneezing over my food, a kitchen is not a good environment to work in with the sniffles! Off to bed now, as soon as I find my cheque book to make my over-payments. On the plus side, only got 2 credit cards now - got the RBS one to cancel, will do that tomorrow along with a 1000+ other things! There is just not enough minutes in a day. Nite all xx0 -
Just a test to see if can get in, having problems with finding my subscribed diaries - strange!0
-
I've not been able to find mine either?! The link doesn't appear to be there anymore?
I think I managed to find them by clicking on 'Forum Jump' on the right hand side and then to 'Subscriptions'..
Not sure what has happened?!0 -
Evening all,
Looks like forum stuff back to normal, liked your way MellyB of finding subscriptions!
Cancelled RBS credit card today even though the guy was trying to talk me into keeping it by offering me it at 7.9%! Eh, what part of can I cancel do you not get, he kept going on even after I said I have a 0% & a 6.8% card at the moment, why would a 7.9% one be better! So evil card is cancelled, 1 down, 2 to go!
Wrote cheque for Barclaycard (holiday paid this month), so along with all other deductions, I am sitting at just over £10K, should be well below this month but can't be helped. Transferred money from savings to pay extra so that's not looking too healthy at the minute - need to get more work at 2nd job. Got OT due as well but not until next month. Still on track to clear everything by next Sept if I really push but at the moment it seems so far away.
Anyway watching Supernatural from about 2 weeks ago, think series now finished so can maybe catch up with everything else. Can't wait for finale of Grey's, think I might give the gym a miss to watch it, any excuse, ha!
Have a nice night everyone, some more housework for me tonight x0 -
Hi All,
Been on the Flylady Thread and it's been really helpful but I'm finding that I still struggle to get everything done and more importantly keep the house tidy. I have worked out (and I am no Carol Vorderman), that out of the 168 hours in a week, minus sleep time, work time, 2nd work time, gym time, making & eating dinner time and relaxation time, phew, that I have approx 21 hours of time I could spend doing housework. This equates to 3 hours a nite, or 2ish hours a nite and more at the weekend (still want to have a life though) that I should be cleaning. So far I have spent over 2 hours cleaning the kitchen and I have managed.....
Cleaned inside and out of 2.5 cupboards - cleaning all glasses/dishes and anything else in there that needed it, also threw out loads of out-of-date food, really need to use stuff up before buying more. Only have 6.5 cupboards to go plus the cooker/fridge. My strategy is to completely do one room at a time, instead of trying to do bits here and there, cos I'm just really glossing over the problem instead of giving the house the proper clean it desperately needs.
It feels nice, seeing 2.5 lovely and very clean cupboards as opposed to everything 'looking' clean but not staying clean IYKWIM.
Anyway gonna have a glass of vino then off to bed, I am pooped! Nite all xx0 -
Hi Swinstie,
Have you looked at the original Flylady's website. I think that this is the focus that they have. One room every week. The others just get the routine clean that week. It's a bit kooky for me but it does seem to make sense.
I've even started a control manual - I'm off to do the bedtime routines and shine my sink (how sad am I getting in my old age!)
urg x x0
