Hi Swinstie
You're getting very organised with all your cleaning! I try to do one quick housework job before I leave the house in the morning. Yesterday it was change the duvet covers and today it was mop all the floors. I don't have a lot of time in the evening as I have about 4 hours from getting in the house to going to have my bath at 9pm (and then bed at 10pm). This 4 hours includes gym, cooking, ironing and actually getting to sit down to eat and watch a bit of TV (usually 30-60 minutes at the most). I try to fit in a bit of housework in somewhere but tend to have a mad blitz at weekends. Looked at the Flylady website before but far too much cleaning going off on it for my liking!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Swinsters,
I feel your pain!
As soon as I get the house tidy, its a hole again. Was so nice when we had a cleaner, a good one too.
What tends to happen is that Mr GG and I give it a blast together and that seems to do the trick. Tho it doesnt last long.
I'd love to have a permanently clean house and fresh bed linen every night. That reminds me, I need to wash the linen again!!!** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Hi Urg, SA & Mrs GG,
Housework is such a pain - I am always going on about how lovely and tidy the house was, then realise it was a month ago and it doesn't take long til it's a mess again. I live in a barbie house and honestly you sit a magazine down on the coffee table and it's cluttered! I will get it done, one of these days, ha!
Will report back on my progress (or lack of) later x0 -
ouch to the idea of spending up to 21 hours doing housework.... looked at the flylady thread not me tho....
Hope you manage to get on top of your spending again so you can pay off more!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well think I might be down to about 15 hours housework left! Have been slaving away in the kitchen and have finally thoroughly cleaned and decluttered 4 full cupboards, feel like I should've done more and kitchen is still a mess but I am proud of the cupboards (even took pictures, ha)!
I am taping GA, might need to watch it later in case anybody tells me what happened - oh CSI Miami is starting next week, looks like Horatio is dead! Can't wait, wait a minute does that mean CSI Las Vegas is finished, damnation must have missed that!
Well signing off now to have a cuppa and a huuuuggggeeee slice of carrot cake! Nite all xx0 -
Well done Swinstie,
You and I are far too similar. I too really need to declutter and tidy. My flat isn't small - i just have too much stuff and cannot help hoarding. I'm getting much better.
Hope you enjoyed the cake.

Hi Urg and any lurkers!
Well OH is coming down tonight, although as he has now finished work I can see him waiting on my front door step when I get home - no problem with that you may say but (the house is a fricking mess), and I wanted to get home and do a stint before he descends upon me - I mean that quite literally, he will not keep his hands to himself - ooh cheeky
I went out to Morrisons at lunch-time, found it this time without getting lost, and spent about £27 on food and oven cleaning soda crystals! Decided might try for a barbie tonight as weather is supposed to change over the weekend, might not be able to sit out though. So think OH can do his man-cooking whilst I try and finish off the kitchen - see good thinking on my part, means can use paper plates too so as to not make a mess.
Probably won't update til at least Sunday as got loads of plans, mainly involving vinegar, alcohol and food! Have a good weekend peeps xx0 -

Evening all, just a quick update, almost finished the tiny kitchen I've been at since last week, goodness knows how many hours it has taken me but the oven is being done as I type and then the floor and that's me finished!
Not done much else this weekend but I will have to get my jars sorted as been slacking in that area, lifted money from the bank and luckily haven't spent too much so should be easy to update spreadsheet!
Have a nice nite all xx0 -
Hi Swinstie, you are doing really well with this cleaning lark. I've been getting the flylady reminders for a wee while now but spend more time reading them than I do following them. I really must get rid of some stuff. Have freecycled some but would like to try and make a bit of money off some of it so will consider a car boot sale once we are back from holiday and the better stuff will be ebayed.
Three rooms in this house currently have boxes of STUFF in them - the dining room has stuff for ebaying and paperwork stuff for filing, upstairs has boxes of stuff never opened from when we moved 6 years ago and boxes of stuff we packed away again while we decorated and now the living room has boxes of kids stuff that they are happy for me to sell. Oh not forgetting the boxes of camping gear in the kitchen waiting on us going on holiday!! One day this house will be box and stuff free. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.
