Ebay feedback - Is anyone from ebay reading? I have some suggestions

I don't chase people for feedback when I buy something anymore - if they're too ignorant to leave me any at all, then that's what they are - ignorant.... And as I've said, I mark down their star ratings, with 4 being the max they can get in the 4 categories. If other people were to start doing what I do then perhaps the sort of ignorance of which I'm complaining might lessen.
I fail to see why you can't accept the fact that feedback is voluntary, not mandatory. Someone fails to take part in a voluntary part of a service you yourself chose to use, and you punish them for it.
Every time you go into a shop and buy something, do you fill in one of the customer satisfaction forms? No? I know they're voluntary, but it's pretty ignorant of you not to leave the shop some feedback isn't it.Sigless0 -

Buy something? Surely he has to buy everything in the shop, because it's voluntary what you choose to buy while you're in there. And voluntary now means mandatory

If someone thinks that a sellers performance would be improved by leaving feedback first, then by all means mark them down. My only suggestion is to make that reason clear in the comments so that anyone else looking can decided whether you are an idiot or not.0 -
If I sell something on ebay, I only leave feedback for the buyer when I know the transaction is complete and they are happy, not just when they've paid quickly.
Bitter experience has taught me just because someone paid fast doesn't mean they won't be a stroppy, bloody-minded, nasty theiving git at a later date."carpe that diem"0 -

Which should be a good reason why feedback (if any) should remain "hidden" until both parties have left it or 6 weeks have elapsed should only one have left it.0 -

But remember hon, sellers can't leave anything but positive feedback so all we can do in protest is refuse to leave any at all.
So I don't understand..
Under your system how does it it help anybody to have the buyers potential neg given to the seller and their assault on our DSRs hidden for a few weeks because we refuse to leave them a positive?
And if we *have* left them a positive immediately after payment all they have to do is leave us one - eventually. They can threaten and harass all they like in the meantime. For up to six weeks in your model.

You must have had some bad experiences to mistrust all your customers, surprised you still bother selling.
First of all RFW my lovely, I didn't say that I mistrusted all my customers - but yes honey I have had some pretty bad experiences. The police have had to be involved once or twice.
means I was being playful, joking or being a tongue in cheek.
(Even though what I said was true. Some scammers can't wait to pay so that they can get started! I was not referring to all ebayers. I was talking about some of the difficult buyers in the post I was responding to.)
Most of my buyers are lovely, but just as society has laws to protect itself against a criminal minority my own personal eBay rules aim to protect me from the same criminal minority.
I hope that clarifies my position hon,
