7 Why not give me your ebay handle so I can avoid you. You're probably the type of individual who doesn't post an item which has been paid for within hours for 4 or 5 working days, doesn't tell the buyer that either and doesn't leave feedback first because you'd have left a positive against a deserved neutral or negative! And if I knew you're handle, please belive me, I would NOT want to enrich you!
We (I'm his fiance) post everything within 24 hours of cleared payment except on weekends when there is no point as it won't get picked up until Monday. It's our job- we don't have time for petty games or letting items sit there.

No we don't leave first as I've explained earlier- it is not about "getting back" at possible bad feedback it's about not adding to the authenticity of scammers.
We know it means we don't get feedback from people who think like you, but TBH we don't care- we have enough good feedback to show buyers that we are good sellers.

We take a LOT of trouble over our job and have no fear of neg or neutrals in fact our feeback is at 100% and glowing comments as we go out of our way to give a personal sevice and if we got a neg or a neutral it wouldn't be deserved as our only neutral shows- someone who didn't understand the system and left us a "good service" type one

Usernames... well.... we'll show you ours if you show us yours. :p
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Yeah.... You post something 4 or 5 days later, you omitted the scratch / break / knackered battery {ie the obvious problem} and don't leave fair feedback first just in case the mug you've just had over has the audacity to complain!

Yeah.... You give us your ebay handle and we'll give you ours.

Sure - and there's a pink pig just flying over the tops of the roof over the way.

I would urge any buyer to never leave any more than 4 stars for a vendor who doesn't leave feedback first

Most of the things we send have arrived inside those 4-5 working days :p

Also, I think the buyers would notice if that were the case. We print our postage direct from Paypal, which displays the date of printing, and they have to be posted on the day they're printed. Normally it's a case of the time between our recieving payment and the item being posted being less than the time between the item finishing and us recieving payment. That's obviously not always possible (some buyers pay almost straight away), but we do guarantee posting within 24 hours, and stuff's often sent within 12 hours where possible (weekends being the exception, we don't have a collection on Sundays).

I still say that sellers don't leave immediate feedback because they want to perform feedback extortion.

How can a seller perform feedback extortion when they can't leave anything but a positive for a buyer? What's to extort?

You seem to be missing the fact that feedback is optional, not mandatory. Sellers don't have to leave feedback it at all if they don't want, just as buyers don't.

I dont leave instant feedback to buyers for my safety.

    You pay, great!

You then pretend item hasnt arrived, or withdraw your funds after I have sent the item, or damage the item on arrival and tell me Im trying to scam you.

There is ALOT buyers can do after paying to warrant NOT getting good feedback!

If there really was a wish list for feedback rules I would like an extra box in my seller preferences to block bidders who leave a high percentage of non positives, yes I know it is unworkable but this is my wish list!

I've got a winning bidder at the moment, has left 2 feedback in the past year, both negs and one of those was because they didn't like the item colour they had chosen when it arrived. I have no way at all now of protecting myself against this bidder even under the old system of sellers being able to leave negs I would have been no better off. It was a BIN so I didn't even get the chance to maybe take a glance at the bidders feedback left.

I suppose my only option will be if I do get a neg to report them as malicious bidders who buy purely to leave poor feedback.
I am surprised though as this is a Scandanavian buyer and I have always found them very pleasant in the past.

I don't think blind feedback is the answer. The same as I don't think stopping sellers from leaving negatives is.

However I do think that sellers should leave feedback first, I do when I sell an item. Maybe this could be forced by ebay? For me though the worst thing is requests for feedback from pushy sellers, usually on the day I receive the item, if I get this then I purposefully delay leaving feedback. However I would never mark a seller down for not leaving it first as this does not represent the transaction properly.

...and a lot of buyers. I agree buyer feedback is irrelevant, however a lot of buyers like it and like to feel appreciated, so leaving feedback is one of the easiest things you can do that ensures repeat custom. If punters like you telling them they're a fabulous customer then why not do it?

Not that I ever had many probems in the first place but I actually get less since as a seller I started leaving feedback first.

Buyer feedback is irrelevent. Its the only way ebay can make them leave feedback for the sellers.

At least if you wait for the transaction to be completed you can put something more personal in your feedback, reference nice conversations you have had etc and be more genuine.

If sellers strated to put "well done, youve figured out how to pay for something, your not a complete moron" for their feedback I bet you wouldnt be so quick to complain.

I think its mean to mark someone down on stars just because they havent left you feedback because you think they should. This is not what feedback is for. Its meant to show a true account of your transaction and marking people down just to be nasty goes against what its for.
