Yes, why are we so trusting? The big conglomerate that is try to sell us yet more product tells us we have to use so much. AND WE BELIEVE THEM! ;D

It's such a con isn't it? I do the same with washing powder tablets - the side of the box says use 2 or 3, but I only ever put 1 in. If it's a small wash or not very dirty I use 1/2 a tablet, but they're harder to break than the dishy tablets & it goes all over the floor.0 -
What an excellent idea. I'm always moaning about the cost of dishwasher tablets as I always seem to need them on a bad week (ie really need to not spend much or else it's an expensive week anyway!!! - probably the wine that gets slipped in :-[).0

In the past I used dishwasher powder and always added half the recommended amount. With tablets I thought I have no choice, but
OF COURSE
I can half them!
Thank you soooo much for the suggestion!

HANDY TIP
Break the tablet in half while it's still inside the packet - less mess. A quick whack on the top edge of the dishwaher door does the trick. That way the second half stays in the packet until you need to use it. Don't forget to empty the "crumbs" out of the wrapper too!0 -

never had that problem. meant the having to buy tablets on a tight week. ;D if it came down to it wine would win over food.0 -
