I make that 24 moths, I am sure your mother counted the pregnancy of your sister even if you did not.;):D
I think perhaps the title holds the best key "A tale of" (fruedian slip perhaps), but we may never know.
I assure you, the time between my sister being born and me being born was not 24 months. It was 14 months(plus a few days). I didn't know we were supposed to add pregnancy time to the calculation. But in that case, my point still stands... with twins, it is possible to get two sprogs in 10 months.
What is sadly believable is that these two people managed to get a mortgage with absolutly no track record of being able to handle debt. At 19, I barely had a single credit card. But unfortunatly, they were giving away mortgages like confetti at one point.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I agree but I would not move from my council house if I just had twins to buy a house.;)
Also your affordability would be a serious problem then.
Begs the other question if they had a council house why did they move out of that to buy a house, they could have purchased that after a few years.
I would not buy a private house if I was is in a council house, I would build my discount up and rent relativly cheaply, then buy the council house at a discount.0 -
The house next door to me came on the market 18 months ago after my long time neighbor died. well it was the height of the market and a very young couple of 19 and 21 snapped it up at asking price.
The couple who moved in were very nice but a bit short of life experience and we got on well. The next thing is he tells me he has just got a loan because the house needed doing up (which it did)
so over the next six months they spend a fortune doing the place up to a high standard and putting so much effort in to the place i admired him.
The problem is how are they paying for all this.well it turned out that she was working full time nights at the local asda and he was a sales manager at mfi..
They actually used to pass each other going in and out of the house to work while swapping the car and i wondered what sort of life is that...well about 9 months ago he got laid off from mfi and could not get any work or good benifits because she worked full time..
they struggled for a few months but just could not make ends meet and finally gave up and she moved back with her parents with her two small children and he is knowhere to be seen.
Well today the house has been repposessed and the 14 day notice has gone up in the window....
how many others out there like this are there and in these uncertain times is buying worth the risk. i forgot to add that these two had moved from a rented council house.
Just goes to show how important timing is whether you succeed or fail...
Is this true geoff? I did wonder if you were a bit of a walter mitty to be honest. How's Gran canaria by the way ?:rolleyes:0 -
mrs b yes it is..i wish was not but thats life....and for the people on about the kids they already had a baby when they bought and have had another while here...i think thats why they got out of council house/flat ( i did not go into thier past that deep)
mrs b i am off to the place that begins with f on the the 20th for a few weeks well needed break and to see how they are suviving on no tourists...:cool:It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Reasonable view? In your eyes only I feel. What's wrong with working at Asda? It's views like yours that 'put down' jobs that we have a country full of work shy wasters who don't want to work that job because they get the same in benefits without the work.
With regards to your other comment about me working in Asda, the answer is no. I work hard for my money which involves a lot of travelling and long periods away from my family. On top of this my wife works fulltime as a midwife so working nights is a regular occurance for her and we have two kids. More importantly, if I had to work and Asda has a job, I'd be first in the line for an application, as would many others on this board.
I did not belittle ASDA in any way. I've even worked there msyelf!0 -

They would have received tax credits'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
