Tru's inbox is full and i really wanted to ask her something - anyhoo you can all help me out - is it acceptable or not to "do a Tru" on holiday - I am fed up! There are four adults and two children - dd and her bf have done nothing but bicker all the time and i seem to be repsonsible for all meals, refereeing, childcare and entertainment. Today i was called back halfway through a nice town walk to have lunch together only to find that i'm expected to pay for everyone - GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

 I'm furious on your behalf

Absolutely 'do a tru'. Wait til tomorrow and do it mid-morning, then flounce off (flouncing seems to get the point across so don't forget to do it). Take your phone in case you need to use it but turn it off so they can't contact you. Then do exactly as you please for the rest of the day :D

......Well I managed to get through the funeral, it was very upsetting, so few mourners, so I was glad DD & I had gone. We'd only met the deceased 2 or 3 times & I was very worried that I'd end up blubbing & it would actually be over my parents. My stepmother was very grateful that we'd made the effort......

Pleased to read you are home, hope it wasn't too many memories for you

What an interesting discussion today. Oh, evening all! :hello:

OS for me is what I can fit in around my job and children. I love to cook and bake, I love to clean but cannot for the life of me discover the joy of ironing or tidying :D (Especially since if I iron they crease it up in the cupboard/drawer and I never seem to be tidying MY stuff..

stefejb absolutely do a Tru :D

    Hockeyduo - congrats :T:T:T

Just had a read through and the topic of the day is verrry interesting!!!

OS for me....well a bit difficult to say really.....I am OS to an extent, I do use the WM I cant wash bedding/towels and assorted other stuff for the 2 Mums and us on a weekly basis without it.
I have a TD but it rarely gets used (its 24yrs old) I prefer line drying when possible.

I use my SC a lot I just love it, 1 pot cooking is the best!!!

Some years ago (20) OH built a cover over our patio with reclaimed timber and some poly-carbon sheets, its the best thing he has ever done, I can put washing out whatever the weather and it blows and most times dries.
It was a real blessing when I worked full time as I did the washing at night and put it out before I went to work at 7:30am, and got it in when I got home at around 7pm, my neighbour was so envious OH helped her OH to put one up.

Baking was my passion until I put on SOOOO much weight, so now I do bake in moderation, I never buy cakes though, my Mum still makes the occasional war time recipe fruit cake, it takes a lot out of her, she's 87 and still cooks from scratch every day, I am very proud of my Mum:A

I used to grow my own veg and salad, not so much nowadays though,

I sweep through all the hard floors kitchen, utility, back lobby, hall and porch and the rugs every day always have done, does'nt take long.
I think when you have done something for a while it gets to be a habit and you do get a certain knack for it.

I recycle everything I can and very rarely does food get wasted.

I think OS is not only doing what we think is right for us, but our families and friends too, above all to care :A

This thread is the best I have read for helping others to perhaps understand a bit about saving money, time, resources and just generally living a healthy more fullfilling life, we all have bad days, and we also know when we feel  or _pale_ or :wall:or  or  or just generally yuk we can come in here for a chat and a bit of encouragement,

O dear I do seem to have got a bit carried away sorry :o

enjoy the rest of your evening all

This made me smile. When my Nana was alive the great-grandchildren called her 'Little Nana' both because she was only 4'11" and it was too difficult to remember all the different Nana's :rotfl:

    Hi,

I mainly lurk now adays but this made me smile, my Mum, who died last October was always 'little Nanna' to my grandson while I was 'Big Nanna'. It must be love though when I answered 'yes ****' when he called me by that name in the middle of a busy Woolworths a couple of years ago.:cheesy:

    Congratulations Hockey...and Csarina....you deserve a rest tonight!

Stefe.....definitely time to 'do a Tru'....take a day or two off, you are not their slave.

Off for 10 days to-morrow, no internet access, so won't 'see you' all until 19th, have a lovely Easter all and I trust that nobody will have any major trouble before I get back
