    Hello everyone :hello:
Its been a lovely sunny day here today, bit cold though.

Washed mums quilt and all her bedding today including the padded underblanket thing, its had a good blow on the line and its nice and dry and smells mmmmmm, always does when its dried outside.
I like to do it for her as she lives in sheltered-accommodation and there is nowhere to hang washing out. Just got to iron it now!!!!
Had an hour or 2 in the garden and my back feels like its broke

SC is bubbling away nicely, not for much longer though I am starving;)

Havent been in for a while too much stuff going on  and havent read through yet either so will do that when I've had Dinner.

Off to see DGS later with Easter eggs and other things from the 2 "Old Nans" as all the LO's call them, they are really Great-Grandma's but its too much of a mouthful for LO's :D

Off to dish up now back later

Thought I'd throw my bit in ;) For me, like many others, OS is being careful with what you have, making life better in a simple way (cooking from scratch, gardening & making things spring to mind) and saving money where each person wants to. I used to throw away quite a lot of fruit & veg before this site :o and also meat if it was a few hours into its sell by date  I don't anymore but, as I'm buying less to only use what we need I don't find that things go off in the fridge or anything nowadays. I have a WM & DW and love both of them. My washing is line dried or on the airers - when the tumble dryer broke a week after I joined this board I decided to see if we could manage without it and we can :T

I also class cooking, baking, cleaning, sewing etc as OS. I've been told by friends that I'm like a throwback to a 50's housewife as I don't use convenience mixes, food or anything similar. I make clothes because I enjoy doing it it's a hobby.

It's very interesting to see what everyone classes as OS to them. It's as individual as we all are. I love that about this board in paticular, but most of all I love the supportive, non-judgemental way that everyone shows to each other.

Well I've 'Mioilered' (hope you get back on soon I miss you!) on ebough for now & the rice is sounding cooked in the pan so I'll go and serve tea to the masses - actually just the 6 of us tonight :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
I now have play doh in the carpet. But a happy little bear.

Taking a five minute sanity saver.

But looking forward to tea - the Remoska does the best baked potatoes.

Then after little bear is in bed I need to do something drastic with the living room, which is best described as encrusted. Also, now that little bear can open round door knobs (new skill today - still a bit shaky, but he also said dog instead of panting like one which is another milestone so he still gets extra cuddles) I need to get all the tablets out of the study, plus scissors etc out of reach...

How much sleep am I going to get? Also - any suggestions about play doh from carpet?

Hiya well been a busy week with hospital appointments and sleeping later trying to rest, we told our parents and as expected they were fine if anything pleased.. so we are trying to organise everything now and try and work out money to see what we would get as I am not able to go back to work as I have officially been diagnosed with a Brain Injury.

O/S for me today was cleaning the diningroom and all my paintwork with warm water and stardrops I will be doing the kitchen later, Old Style for me is trying to organise my routine and make my daily chores seem more managable and helps me to maintain my independence which is what I am scared of loosing.

J is really helpful and has been trying to drum up support and get his hours and place of work changed so we can become a normal family.. I will be investing in a slow cooker as I think this will help lots and some more food containers :)
Of all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most

Tru's inbox is full and i really wanted to ask her something - anyhoo you can all help me out - is it acceptable or not to "do a Tru" on holiday - I am fed up! There are four adults and two children - dd and her bf have done nothing but bicker all the time and i seem to be repsonsible for all meals, refereeing, childcare and entertainment. Today i was called back halfway through a nice town walk to have lunch together only to find that i'm expected to pay for everyone - GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

This made me smile. When my Nana was alive the great-grandchildren called her 'Little Nana' both because she was only 4'11" and it was too difficult to remember all the different Nana's :rotfl:

    Evening all
Yes Stef you can 'do a tru' when your on holiday, otherwise it isn't a holiday for you at all is it.
    Great News Hockey Duo.
Thank you for all you kind wishes, it's so nice that so many people care.
OS for me is doing the bits of it I want to do, ie cooking & sewing etc & completely ignoring stuff like housework, lol.
Well I managed to get through the funeral, it was very upsetting, so few mourners, so I was glad DD & I had gone. We'd only met the deceased 2 or 3 times & I was very worried that I'd end up blubbing & it would actually be over my parents. My stepmother was very grateful that we'd made the effort. We didn't take flowers but did as Floss suggested & said we'd give a donation to a charity of choice. The coffin was beautiful, wicker, with trailing ivy around it & covered in fragrant flowers.
DD & I left shortly after the ceremony & to cheer ourselves up we stopped a Yo Sushi on Paddington station. We were home by 3 & the lodger was delighted to see us both.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

I agree - it is your holiday too. Why not just disappear one day, taking your purse with you and if anyone objects just tell them you are having some time to yourself and by the way you have spent all your holiday budget on their lunch today. Then pootle into town, have a mooch, get your nails done & find a nice park bench to sit on & read your book.
