Why do some people think they are entitled to things just for being pregnant?!

Perhaps she refers to paid leave from work for ante natal, maternity exemtion certificate for free prescriptions and dentistry and SMP

I find that comment a tad unhelpful and a bit unfair. You're jumping to conclusions on the basis of one word. And if she is on income support then she will probably get a grant - so what?
If you want to grind your teeth about that then I'd take it Number 10 Downing Street rather than the individuals who benefit. If the Government makes it available only a fool would not make use of it.

Congrats to OP. Don't bother buying any parents books. Waste of time and money and a lesson in how to make you feel pants about your parenting.

And again! (And no I'm not following or stalking, I'm just going through the threads on this board)

Why are you always quick to jump down anyones throat when it's regarding babies or children??

Of course, it's because we are all bad people who are crap Mums or who will make crap Mums, because there is only one person who will be the best Mum and that's you.

It is nobodies fault here than you can't have what you want, but for Christ sake, stop acting like it is!

OP, Congratulations!! Come join us on the pregnancy thread! :) xxx

I will act however I want to act! I'm just fed up of having to pay for other peoples decisions, and I know alot of other people feel the same.

How do you pay for people decisions?!
The OP asked what her entitlements are - I'm pregnant so my entitlements are ...................

The right to paid time off to attend ante-natal appts - do u pay for this?
The right to have a risk assessment at work - again, do u pay for this?
The right not to lose my job because I am pregnant - I don't have to ask again do I?
The right to care from the NHS during pregnancy

You automatically assumed that the OP meant financial entitlements.
How exactly do you pay for peoples decisions?
I decided to get pregnant, I pay my taxes and will receive SMP while I'm off. Not a lot but I don't see how you pay for this. If you want to send me your Porsche - feel free.

This 'I pay for you' attitude really gets my goat - do you pay taxes? Yes.
Do you pay for NHS treatment? Do you pay when you call the Police? No, you don't because this is funded by our taxes.

You seem to be fed up about an awful lot tbh, esp when it concerns children and families.

In what respect do you pay for other people's decisions?. Just curious.

My husband currently has 2 employees on maternity leave, he has to pay them aswell as employing others to do their jobs. In other words he is paying four people to do two peoples jobs!
