Sadly it appears that Grace does not have the good grace to return to this thread & admit she was talking rubbish about the cost of Maternity pay to employers.

What kind of business are you starting Grace? I truly hope you wont have any employees.

I rekon it's gotta be a baby clothes shop! :rotfl:

Why not go on a hunting fishing shooting trip for the stag do organised by one of the brothers, Giles or George ?, sorry I forget which one.

Maybe she could be the 'evenings entertainment' for the stag do, she's done modelling work, has got big boobs and has had a brazilian to boot !!!!!

Wow, this thread really moves at speed! Some interesting points of view and a little food for thought for Grace. (I kind of hope she is a troll, as I pity any child who might be in her care in the future)

I've been a working Mum ( for 12 years whilst my oldest two were growing up) and I'm a SAHM now, with my youngest and have been for 3 yrs.

There are good and bad things about both. As a working Mum I had a little more money (couldn't afford not to work though) but over half my wage paid the childminder and I missed being at home with my kids. Especially with my first who was in hospital for a while in her first year (after I had returned to work) and in plaster for months, whilst I had to work.

However, the eldest two gained a wonderful second family at the childminder (who only ever minded my 2) with older "brother's & sister" (ie childminder's kids) In fact my oldest was bridesmaid at her "big sister's" wedding last year.

It was hard having someone else "parent" my children but I was lucky that my minder had very similar views to me and we became best friends over that time.

By the time number 3 came along things were better financially so I packed up work & I love being a SAHM. However because I no longer work money is sometimes tight so I'm not able to "spoil" the kids like I once could.

I've seen both sides & I prefer the SAHM role, but I know I'm lucky to have the choice.

Sorry its long, just wanted to see both sides.
Thanks to all who post comps :A :T

Right gang I think this thread has moved far enough off topic now really... I was hoping to have a bit of an Easter break but it seems I have to put my BG hat on here :)
We all have different views of the world - how dull it would be if we didn't - but not only is this now no longer particularly money saving, it's turning more and more personal so I'm going to knock it on the head.
