I read somewhere that people with depression are usually of higher than average intelligence, so there probably is a link too between Bipolar and genius!0 -
Oh dear. You still insist on invalidating and minimising depression - insisting that they are purely in the mind
Ok where is it if not in the persons own mind?
. You say that people who have long-term and recurrent problems with depression experience this only because they are 'negative' and have 'no motivation' to get better.
One of your lies. please quote me where I said this exactly
AB, if you are so highly accomplished and highly paid, then surely you can take a bit of care over your spelling and grammar?
Typical chancer with not much skill but a God complex a big ego (apparently) landing themselves a highly paid job (while scorning those who live on relative peanuts).
I'm quite good at sussing people out psychologically and I think that probably describes you to a T.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
Even if you are a therapist, AB, anyone can set themselves up as a therapist whether they are good at it or not, whether they know about different conditions or not.absolutebounder wrote:One of your lies. please quote me where I said this exactly
You resort to nastiness and name calling when people are getting the better of you, I see.
How about the following quotes from previous posts of yours:absolutebounder wrote:you can say I accept defeat and will live with this depression for the rest of my life or you can say lets have a gop at getting better and enjoying life more. because depression lowers self esteem and then makes such strong defences it can be hard to get away from this feeling.absolutebounder wrote:It is patently obvious severely depressed people dont think positive but it doesnt mean they cant change that if they want to. the secret is in the want when the pain gets enough even severely depressed people will act. sometimes its suicide and sometimes its a realisation that it doesnt have to be how it is. those are the easy people to help. Unfortunately the benefits system keeps people in their comfot zone where they may not be happy but they are not depressed enough to act.absolutebounder wrote:Well looking at things from the depression angle it is clear they are not battling illness. They are just rolling over and letting what will be, happen.

Perhaps you could apologise to Willa now for calling her a liar?0 -
Beachbeth. I follow this thread with great interest, even though I dont necessarily post. You seem to have an absolute 'issue' with AB, and thats fine, its your perogative. However this constant sniping is getting very tedious now, and bringing posts from other threads into this one in order to prove your 'point' is incredibly bad form.
If you dislike him, and his work that much, then can I make the polite suggestion that you dont post on what is, in essence, his thread, and maybe if you feel that strongly that he is wrong, perhaps continue your disagreement with him via PM.You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

How would you like to suffer from a debilitating condition and have someone repeatedly talk about that condition in a derogatory way as though its not a serious condition? It upsets a lot of people and not just me.
I wasn't going to post here again but he called someone a liar and asked for a quote. Simple as that.0 -

I also read this thread with interest,AB asked Beachbeth to post quotes so i cannot see how you can slate her for doing so.Beachbeth has every right to post where she likes. The fact that AB started the thread makes not the slightest differance and the only person to own it is Martin Lewis0 -
