If you are so successful with your different busineses how do you find time to post on this web site. Surely your patients would need you.0

However it turns out that my Father had a family concurently with mine and some of my half brothers and sisters. They were his second family that he spent the most time with. I was with him on and off until I was four my brother went into care almost as soon as he was born. So why do none of those use the defense mechanism of depression or Bipolar when my brother and I do?Who I am is not important. What I do is.0

Because they didn't inherit it like you did. It is not simply just a defence mechanism as AB believes.0 -

So you only see each patient once? I can see this would help with stopping smoking but a person who is depressed would need more sessions. You haven't got a long line of people waiting to see you then? I wonder why.:cool:0 -

Have a look at my mate Andrew taking a training session on PTSD
www.andrewtaustin.com I dont think a NHS counselling session would be quite the same do you. I am not criticising the NHS we just have different objectives.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -

This latest research isn't conclusive. No one can say for definite that it is or isn't inherited. Why is it that there are families out there where the children are all brought up the same way and yet one child in the family will suffer with depression? I know a family of 6 brothers of whom 3 have depression and schizophrenia (sp?)and the other 3 are perfectly fine and successful in their fields. All 6 had a pretty shi**y upbringing. If it was down to environment and upbringing then surely all 6 would have depression and so would my own siblings?0 -

So why did you say rubytuesdays was a couple of posts ago?

Because factors are never the same plus the individual filters what he or she perceives down to just a few things. One individuals filtering system is not the same as another

I know you love to have something to blame for your condition but have you ever thought of this. while you are running around hating the way you are or the way the world is to you and being negative about everything you are depleting your serotonin levels and as this is happening your autonomic nervous system is going into overdrive and producing things like adrenaline which can lead to panic atttacks. You only see the symptom withouit realising how you actions affect the symptoms. medicine can treat the chemical change but how do you treat someone behaving stupidly if that person is not willing to engage in their own change?Who I am is not important. Because this is what I believe from personal experience and so, it seems, does Rubytuesday. Nothing is proven either way.absolutebounder wrote:Because factors are never the same plus the individual filters what he or she perceives down to just a few things. In other words we are all born different and all take after different people or different parts of people. Some are predisposed to becoming depressed and some aren't, depending on who they take after. You have just proved my point.absolutebounder wrote: »People perceive things differently even in families. glass half full or half empty.

You don't know anything about me Im afraid. Im not running around doing anything. Reading a few posts of mine on MSE doesn't qualify you to be able to understand me or my condition. This is what I keep trying to tell you. You cannot know anyone over an internet connection enough to diagnose or treat or to advise, the latter of which is what you repeatedly insist on doing here on MSE. Added to that you have your own theories about depression which are usually wrong. No matter how may people here take you to task about your behaviour towards people suffering with depression you are too arrogant to listen and carry on. Why is it that you have had many posts deleted? Perhaps the mods have just got it in for you?0
