No. That definitely isn't the case. There are all sorts of memories associated with music - being at college with friends; having a good time with my daughters when they were little at swimming or the park; travelling in the car on the way to our holiday in Yarmouth/visiting my brother in London and sightseeing etc.

Its just that there are things that upset me that I can ignore more easily if Ive had a drink. I just can't understand why happy memories upset me?
I think Lita was being a bit light hearted.
Now you realise that drink negates ADs so it may be that while you think they are helping they may be making you more anxious. drinking is not the answer as it is a depressant . I am still trying to find some material thet will help you get in a state that works with the memories rather than against them. I may end up having to record you a MP3 myself at this rate. One very good guy for this sort of thing is Stephen gilligan Phd and you can google him but his publications are not cheap especially when you take into account postage.

Thanks, AB. I'll Google that and any further info you can come up with would be much appreciated. I know I shouldn't drink but I find it hard not to in the evenings. :(

I have been turned down for DLA. I wrote to them asking them to send me their report so that I could see how they came to their decision. I received their report this morning. It seems that they have used the report from my medical that I had last November. This is the same medical that resulted in my Incapacity Benefit being stopped. As I have had a tribunal and been awarded more points than were given after this medical then surely this medical report cannot be taken as evidence that Im not eligible for DLA?

What do I do now? Write to the DWP telling them this so that they ignore the medical report and let me have a fairer assessment to find if Im eligible for DLA?

The whole system is so flawed and causes so much stress! :(

I would certainly raise the issue of the tribunal with them but be aware that DLA has its own set of qualifications so you may or may not be eligible.
I ususlly phone up people and ask for their email so I can email them as this tends to be quicker
failing all else write to the health minister and threaten to vote BNP if he doesnt sort it out.

We're moving house this weekend. I've banished (nearly all of) my negative thoughts - basically pulling myself away from the familiar and moving out of my comfort zone and embracing it as a good thing for various reasons - but it is DD1's last day at her school tomorrow and I feel SO guilty for taking her out and moving schools. She's being good about it although she is nervous, but every time I think about it being her last day and her saying she'll miss her friends, I feel awful.

We originally moved to be able to get into this school, which is a primary, so it would have meant just the two schools, primary and secondary. Now she's moving to an infants, so will have a couple of years there before juniors, then secondary. And that's not counting if the closest infants has a place come up, or if I decide to send her to the nearest juniors rather than the feeder one of the infants:confused:

Luckily by the time DD2 starts school she'll go straight in to the nearest infants (the one DD1 is on the waiting list for.) A logistical nightmare!

I just feel so guilty for having to move DD1 about when I thought a couple of years ago she'd start school and it would be as simple as that :(

Good luck with your move, Jo_R. I hope it goes smoothly. I know what you mean about schools! Before my daughters were even born I was thinking about which schools I wanted them to go to. The nearest secondary school to us has a bad reputation and there was no way they were going to end up there! This was why when we got married we got married in a catholic church and I had my daughters baptised Catholic. They then attended the nearest Catholic infant school, middle school and then ended up at the Catholic secondary school instead of this awful school that is just down our road! I was brought up as a Catholic but Im not religious and don't go to church. I just went through the motions so that my girls could go to the right schools. Its stupid really what you have to do.

Im excited this morning because my daughter came back from her holiday in Egypt in the night (I hope!) and she and her boyfriend were dropped off at his house in the early hours. I will be collecting her home this morning when she gets up and the dogs (and her rats!) will be so pleased to see her. She drives me mad most of the time but Ive really missed her!:p

    Hi Jo
good luck with the move and try to look forward to the chang. people often dont like change but really it opens up all sorts of possibilities ie new places to see and new freinds to make. same for daughter. Im sure she will sonn make new friends and as for the old ones im sure they can talk on thephone or MSN or whatever way they can.

  • Hi Folks. I want to say thank you to you people because I have made a decision to find a job and go back to work. I have been really inspired since I came here and I feel sooo much better now that I have stopped the ADs . Just my luck I get better in a credit crunch with a shortage of jobs . Still anything to get off benefits and have some money in my pocket to spend. I might even have my first holiday in years next year.

Ha Ha. I've got to get a job first and that is not proving quite so easy as I have been out of the loop so long. I have seen quite a few agencys but what a useless bunch of idiots they are. They dont hold out much hope because I have been depressed not that they seem to try and help anyway. Im not going to give up and local paper comes out tomorrow so hopefully there will be something in that.
It is horribly quiet here lately. Where is everyone are they all better or on hols or just given up on hoping to get better.
