Why would you want to settle it before the statement arrives?

You could always keep the balance in your savings account earning a bit of interest until your payment date

That'll be me,when Vanquis issued me there gold card my interest shot up to 54% apr.

Dont even know why i keep it.....must be a sentimental thing.

If I ask for a limit decrease I wonder if I'll get charged lower APR? :rotfl:
  • I also have a Vanquis card, trying to rebuilt credit score following awful break up of previous relationship!

Got my card March 2009 with £500 limit, increase to £1250 on October's statement, just wondering when/if I could expect another increase?

Not desperate for one and don't need it really but would be nice, does it help with rebuilding credit, getting increases that is?

Always pay more than the minimum between £50 and £150 a month, have got about £800 on it at the moment because of the cat who decide it should go and get attacked by another animal and get an enormous abcess but most of that should be refunded by pet insurance later this month and hence card almost clear.

    They did this with me.

STAND YOUR GROUND AND DON'T BACK DOWN!!!!

They WILL give you absolute lies and tripe to get you off the phone, but stand solid, keep repeating over and over "I've seen what you advertise and I've fulfilled your requirements to the letter but YOU have FAILED to deliver. I want to make a formal complaint to find out why YOU are in breach of your advertising".

Eighth statement with me still no increase despite exemplary account conduct. I've had a complaint outstanding with them about it for 5+ weeks chased it up yesterday still not an answer.

We need EVERYONE that this has happened to to take their complaints to the bitter end so that Vanquis get the message. Good luck! Fight the power!

  • Can I point out that the vanquis website recently changed to show the *after 4 months we will consider increasing your limit

That means it was not like this 2 months ago! It is recent and therefore retrospective requests should (and will) be refused.

At the end of the day they can refuse based on many things, you have recently applied for 4 bank accounts right? (2 barclays/2 lloyds) therefore that in itself could make them decline the increase....

It is based upon their assessment on how you run the account with them AND OTHER credit liabilities.

They have no need to respond to you really mate.
