Hi
i got my setanta down to £9.99 for 1 year which is a £36.00 a year saving.
Got £15.00 off for two months fo the sports channels:T0 -
Thanks, I've just phoned up and said I was thinking of leaving Sky, is this something you are able to arrange for me, and the lady on the phone asked me why I wanted to leave, I gave the honest answer of the fact that we only really watch football and the season's ended. She said do we like any other of the summer's sports, I said my partner quite likes the cricket-
This is where she offered me the deal from £18 a month right down to £3 a month until 8th August when football season starts again,
Well worth the phone call to save £30!
Thanks for the post:beer:0 -
Hi, I phoned and asked to cancel my setanta subscription, the girl asked why and I was honest and told her it was because we only watch footie and the season is finished.
We chatted quite a bit about various football teams and players and then she offered me a reduced subscription of £8.50 a month for the next 12 months starting this month.
I thought that was a good deal and accepted. Lets hope that they keep going, doesn't look like it with this mornings news, and I can carry on watching scottish football.
Thanks for the information and the genetic phone number.0 -
I too have been offered Setanta for 1 year at £8.50 a month, which is quite good I think. The only question is what would happen if they do go into administration? Would I still have to pay the contract should they cease broadcasting?0

HI
I POSTED YESTERDAY HOW I REDUCED MY SETANTA TO £9.99 SAVING £36.00 PER YEAR. NOW ON THE RADIO 2 NEWS TODAY IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE GOING INTO RECEIVERSHIP. aS I HAVE JUST SIGNED UP TO A NEW ONE YEAR CONTRACT WITH MONEY BEING TAKEN FROM MY CASHBACK CREDIT CARD, ARE WE ALLOWED TO CANCEL?
I TRIED TO RING TODAY BUT THERE PHONES ARE JAMMED OR THEY HAVE SWITHED THEM OVER AS THE ANSAPHONE SAYS THEY ARE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL ISSUES AND YOU CANNOT LEAVE A MESSAGE.:T0 -

makes interesting reading..
now i sub to setanta, but don't watch the "setanta" channels, I only want it for ESPN America.
So if that were to go stand alone, which it probably will, as they are owned by ESPN, and only use setanta for the package subscription, it'll be interesting to see what price they come out at0 -

If you have signed up via a recurring debit on a credit or debit card, then you can't cancel it, only the payee can cancel. You really should have used a direct debit, which you control. If they do go into admin then you will have to wait for the administrators to sort it out, but they may continue to take payments in the meantime. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

If they cease broadcasting then they would not be filling their part of the contract. This means you would be out of contract. If somebody steps in a takes over then your contract may be with them instead.0 -

Just out of interest.
If you change your packages by either removing or adding. Do you get yourself into a new contract?
So if I remove Sky Sports 1 or add Sky Sports 1 at any point, would I entire into a new contract?0
