Abby - don't even think about it. costs include normal jabs, rabies jabs, blood tests, vet checks, and freight for the animal. You don't have the cash never mind how it will curtail your freedom to move about/travel etc.
I'm sure your kitty is beautiful, but you have not had her long and you really need to try not to get too more attached. The lifestyle you are hoping for will not gel with having a pet even if you could afford it.
I know it will be a wrench, but you really need to look at getting it rehomed, I think kitty will be happier in the long run too

I did it
Shes been rehomed
Friend from work had a friend looking for a kitten to be a friend to their old cat, sort of introduce a new member whilst one is on their way out if that makes sense. I didn't ask for any money, but she gave me £60!!! I mean I guess if she'd gone and bought a kitten she'd have paid £250 but still, I mean I could have injected Minky with rabies, but oh well.
I've advertised my mini trampoline and um gym crosstrainer on Preloved. I will leave my furniture for whoever takes the room on, but might as well get rid of the little bits. I mean I;ll take whatever cash! I now have spent £30 on suitcases, £14 on a 24" and £12 on a 20". And postage. I plan to take the biggest suitcase, put my laptop the littleone in my handbag and my bigger one inthe suitcase. Take essential shoes, rucksack ONLY clothes that fit, dab radio, little essentials oh and all my cameras. I reckon I can fit under 20kg. Just really got to make sure I don't put so much clothes. Was 18kg when I went skiing, and that was just clothes!!!!!!
Then in my second large suitcasewhich I am not taking on the plane... £21 for AN EXTRA 3 KG!!!! I worked out that if I get my suitcase to my parents then I can post it. Well get them to post it from the uk to wherever I am. Be about £50 which is cheaper than taking it on the plane. I mean I can't throw everything away.
If everything goes wrong abroad I know my gran will bail me out and let me stay at hers,
Oh and I put my satnav on preloved as well
The only thing is.....I have a car that I stupidly bought a few months ago. its a fiesta 1996 its a good little car, I was and am a learner driver. Anyway sunroof ripped off, took it to garage, will cost £80, and I've um ignored their phonecalls for 2 weeks. Anyone want a free car but you have to pay the £80...I seriously can't admit when I;ve done wrong, as in ignoring them. And well, can't be bothered to sell car. I don't have the £80 in the first place, I'd have to give them then £80 and then it could take ages to sell. I only bought it for £300, its worth that but I mean I'd sell it for £100 but people would think its bust!Money money money.

I'm very excited for you. Well done on all your progress so far!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

well done!
France has some beautiful countryside, architecture and art and culture so you'll be spoilt for choice! I don't know whether they still do the inter rail type cards for cheap train transport through Europe, but maybe you could look into that. Theres so much to explore within easy reach from a base like Paris.
Enjoy that laid back cafe lifestyle though and good luck!

Well done Abbie. What sort of work are you going to be doing there?0

As they say on the radio.....if you're just joining us
Fed up at work, 20 years old, don't get on with flatmates, hate this town. Offereda few aupair positions, have decided to live in Paris on Boulevard Periere (google!! has streetview) Have my own studio apartment, look after kids in late afternoon and evening.
I quit work on Friday, ended going back this Monday. Have decided to vacate the country on 28th April to Paris as thats when they need me to start. Will simply head off! Will still have worked a month at work (minus 2 days but I will send them 2 days wages back) so can settle all of my outstanding bills apart from debts but those will be paid off gradually.
Have found two groups in Paris for british expats and can get membership for 50 euros for a year. Means have access to british library etc. Am looking at studying photography part time and also TEFL but can't do either without money so it shall be after I've settled in. I am currently photographing most of my belongings to put on ebay. I shall send you the link (not advertising my wares) so you can see the contents of my life and ALSO why I need to get out of buying stuff I don't need or want. But I've not uploaded it all yet
Money money money.

An NIE number is essentially a tax number for foreigners in Spain. You need one if you are going to buy a house or a car, if you are going to work for a Spanish company or if you want to apply for residencia (a residency card). If you are an EU citizen, you no longer have to apply for your NIE number separately -you will be given one when you register as a foreign resident.
Residencia
The rules on residencia cards in Spain have been changed several times recently.
Briefly, if you are an EU citizen, you must now register at your local Oficina de Extranjeros - usually in the local Comisaria. You will need to complete a form and pay a fee, and you will be rewarded with a certificate which shows your name, address and NIE number.0
